    摘要: A multi-sectional linear ionizing bar with at least four elements is disclosed. First, disclosed bars may include at least one ionization cell with at least one axis-defining linear ion emitter for establishing an ion cloud along the length thereof. Second, disclosed bars may include at least one reference electrode. Third, disclosed bars may include a manifold for receiving gas or air from a source and for delivering same past the linear emitter(s) such that substantially none of the gas/air flows into the ion cloud. Fourth, disclosed bars may include means for receiving the ionizing voltage and for delivering same to the linear emitter(s) to thereby establish the ion cloud. In this way, disclosed ionizing bars may transport ions from the plasma region toward a charge neutralization target without inducing substantial vibration of the linear emitter and without substantial contaminants from the gas/air flow reaching the linear emitter.

    摘要: Air ionizing apparatus that produces both positive and negative ions has a housing with air inlet and outlet passages, a plurality of spaced apart air ionizing electrodes and a high voltage supply which applies positive and negative voltages to separate electrodes. A fan creates an airflow that carries the ions out of the housing, the fan preferably being between the electrodes and the outlet passages to promote intermixing of positive and negative ions. The high voltage region of the high voltage supply is isolated from any direct current path to ground. The electrodes then inherently acquire a D.C. voltage bias, when necessary, that maintains an equal output of positive and negative ions without requiring use of an air ion sensor and feedback circuit for the purpose.

    摘要: An improved automatic defibrillator operable from an internal rechargable battery power source or from an A.C. line when the battery is discharged utilizes a high efficiency flyback type power supply for charging the energy storage capacitor. The capacitor charging power supply employs an isolated output thereby allowing the defibrillator electrodes to be switched between the storage capacitor and an electrocardiogram unit by the discharge relay and avoiding the need for a separate relay or isolating impedance to isolate the preamplifier of the electrocardiogram unit from the defibrillator circuit. Finally automatic circuitry is employed to control the battery power supply so that the number of watt seconds (Joules) of energy delivered by the defibrillator may be easily selected by a single selector switch, and the charging of the capacitor terminated when the energy necessary to deliver the amount of energy selected has been stored.

    摘要: An air ionizer comprises at least two electrodes contained within a recessed region of an insulating housing. When high voltages are applied to the electrodes, nearby air molecules are ionized and generally move towards a target region outside the housing. Because the insulating housing shields the electrodes, the production of ions is not significantly disturbed by charged or grounded objects other than those in the general direction of the target region. In one embodiment, the electrodes are placed close enough to the inner walls of the recessed region that the portions of the surfaces of the walls near the electrodes are electrostatically charged. This charge tends to repel the nearby ions, expelling many from the recessed region towards the target region.
