Abstract:
A writing instrument includes a nose section that is connected to a barrel housing portion that contains an ink reservoir for holding ink for delivery to a writing nib. A cap may be releasably secured to the nose section with a magnetic-mechanical connection assembly to cover the nib to protect the nib from damage and to prevent ink evaporation.
Abstract:
A writing instrument includes a shell, an ink reservoir disposed in the shell and a writing tip section that is provided on the shell from which ink from the ink reservoir is applied to a substrate. The writing tip section includes a writing tip and an ink feed assembly for delivering ink from the ink reservoir to the writing tip through capillary action. The writing tip is flexible and a flexible cover with the shape of a fountain pen nib is provided for supporting the flexible writing tip.
Abstract:
A fluid control system for writing instruments, correction fluid dispensers and self contained paint brush and paint reservoirs is disclosed. The fluid control system includes two filters or reservoirs, including a hydrophobic filter/reservoir and a hydrophilic filter/reservoir. The hydrophobic and hydrophilic elements may be spaced adjacent to and in abutting engagement with each other or a gap or space may be disposed therebetween. The hydrophobic element is disposed adjacent to the fluid reservoir (i.e., ink, correction fluid, paint reservoir or other water based fluid) and the hydrophilic element is disposed adjacent to the applicator tip or brush.
Abstract:
A highlightable mixture, such as an ink, including a colored pigment, an eradicable colorant, and a non-eradicable colorant; a kit including the highlightable mixture and an eradicator solution; colorant complex including a colorless or substantially colorless eradicable dye selected from the group consisting of diarylmethane derivatives, triarylmethane derivatives, and methine dyes, and a colored pigment; and methods of applying an eradicator to at least a portion of a marking made with a highlightable mixture, are described herein.

Abstract:
The disclosure is generally related to a decoder system and, more particularly, to a decoder system comprising a coding composition, a decoding composition and optionally, an erasing composition. The disclosure also provides decoder writing instrument systems comprising a coding writing point in fluid communication with a coding composition, a decoding writing point in fluid communication with a decoding composition and optionally, an erasing writing point in fluid communication with an erasing composition.

Abstract:
An improved fluid control system for a paint brush or applicator system that includes a flexible barrel-type reservoir is disclosed. The disclosed valve systems may be of a ball-valve type, a trumpet-type or a duck-bill type. The valve or control systems help the user regulate the flow of fluid from a flexible barrel reservoir to a brush or applicator tip by adequately restricting flow in response to squeezing pressure applied by the user to the flexible barrel reservoir.
Abstract:
A writing instrument includes a magnetically actuated locking assembly for releasably securing a first component, such as a cap, to a second component, such as a barrel. The magnetically actuated locking assembly includes a first magnet and at least one second magnet, the magnetic fields of which actuate and release a mechanical lock between the first component and the second component.
Abstract:
A writing instrument includes a barrel, a refill assembly, and a refill plug assembly that is quick to release from the barrel and quick to re-attach to the barrel when changing a refill assembly. The refill plug assembly is quickly secured to the barrel of the writing instrument and quickly released from the barrel of the writing instrument through a twisting and/or pushing action that may require less than one full turn to disengage from the barrel and to re-attach to the barrel, thus expediting replacement of the refill assembly.
