摘要: It is disclosed an apparatus, a method and a computer program for determining a position of a terminal. It is checked if an intersection of all areas of a set of areas that are associated with one or more communication nodes and represent and/or limit possible positions of a terminal is potentially non-empty. Each of the areas is associable with a respective bounding box. The intersection is defined to be potentially non-empty if an intersection of all of the bounding boxes would be non-empty. A position of the terminal is determined in dependence on a result of the checking if the intersection of all areas of the set of areas is potentially non-empty.

摘要: An apparatus run-length encodes data to obtain a sequence of records. The data are associate to grid points of a grid and the records are defined such that they allow embedding data associated to a same grid point and representing pieces of information of at least two different types in a same record. The encoded data may be stored or transmitted. When receiving or retrieving such run-length encoded data in a sequence of records, the data may be run-length decoded to obtain decoded data and an association of the decoded data to the grid points of the grid.

摘要: An apparatus generates at least one request for determination of a location of a mobile device based on information on terrestrial radio signals determined by the mobile device and based on stored positioning data. The stored positioning data is based on information on terrestrial radio signals provided by at least one mobile device. The apparatus further determines a value of at least one quality parameter by evaluating a response to the request in view of an indication of a position of the mobile device that has been determined based on satellite signals.

摘要: The application relates to storage and retrieval of information about access points APs of wireless local area networks WLANs. It is known to store information about WLAN APs, for example fingerprint data, in such a way that the data can be accessed using the BSSID of the WL-AN AP, i.e. the MAC address of the radio interface, as a key. However, malicious manufacturers or users copy existing MAC addresses and thereby duplicate existing BSSIDs. Effectively this means that the BSSID is not globally unique, but the same BSSID may occur in multiple WLAN APs at multiple locations. Therefore, when using the BSSID as a key, an AP may thus occasionally and incorrectly seem to jump from one location to another. This problem is solved by the present application in that the information about APs (Data) is assigned not only to the BSSID (BSSID1, BSSIDM) as the primary key but also to an identifier of region (MCC1, MCCN), such as the mobile country code MCC, as a secondary key.

摘要: For assisting a satellite based positioning, parameters are received for at least one satellite. Redundant information is removed from these parameters at large. Parameters with reduced redundancy are then provided as assistance data for the satellite signal based positioning. Such parameters with reduced redundancy can be received on the other hand as assistance data for a satellite signal based positioning. The original parameters are then reconstructed by adding the removed redundant information to the received parameters. The reconstructed original parameters are used in an assisted satellite signal based positioning.

摘要: It is inter alia disclosed to respectively link at least two objects of a plurality of objects to one or more respective regions of a grid of regions. The at least two objects are respectively related to a respective coverage area representation and/or a respective coverage-providing entity. At least two of the at least two objects are associated with each other based on a finding that both have been linked to at least one same region of the grid of regions. 摘要: Methods and devices may request and provide assistance data from an assistance server to a receiver in a global navigation satellite system. A request for assistance data may include a preference list of navigation models suitable for the requesting receiver. Multiple preference lists for different navigation model types (e.g., orbit model, clock model, almanac model) may be included in a single list and/or data structure, or as multiple lists and/or data structures. An assistance server may receive and process the preference list, for example, by parsing and traversing the ordered list(s) for different navigation model types, in order to provide satellite navigation data to the receiver in accordance with suitable navigation models that are available at both the receiver and the assistance server.

摘要: A system and method by which an estimate can be provided to a location-based service provider concerning the motion state of a user of a terminal. Motion state information may be used to trigger a particular location-based service at a more desirable moment. The motion state information may also be used to help define the format of information sent to the user's terminal, as well as to define the content of the information that is to be sent to the user terminal. This enables an improved level of control of the distribution of location-based services, as information can be sent at a more optimal time and more relevant information can be sent to the user.
