More particularly, the invention relates to a food additive, baked food composition and method for lowering blood cholesterol. A baked food composition of the present invention comprises a grain component and a soluble fiber humectant. Additionally, a baked food composition of the present invention qualifies for a Food and Drug Administration health claim that the baked food composition helps lower cholesterol and may reduce the risk of heart disease.
