Abstract:
A method and an apparatus are provided that may be applicable to refrigeration assets, including refrigeration plants and cold-storage facilities comprising large numbers of refrigeration assets. The performance of refrigerators and refrigeration devices may be monitored based on temperature and electrical current and other measurements known or deemed to be correlated with refrigeration performance. Refrigeration assets in need of repair may be identified and a repair process may be specified, classified, managed and optimized. The immediate effectiveness and long-term persistence of repairs may be determined over time. The refrigeration assets may be classified according to reliability, performance, make, model and manufacturer. The effectiveness of repairs may be classified based on measured performance results following repairs. Service providers, including organizations, companies or individuals providing repair and other services, may be evaluated for the effectiveness and persistence of repair results using benchmarks and other quantitative evaluation methods.
Abstract:
Systems and method for operating and monitoring refrigerators are described. Temperature cycles within the compartment are characterized using statistical, frequency and pattern analysis techniques to derive a steady-state characteristic of temperature within the compartment. A thermal sensor inside the conditioned area is monitored and temperature data sets can be analyzed to determine performance in comparison to a baseline, and energy consumption. Analysis of continuous temperature readings taken from individual or groups of freezers identifies patterns of variations in temperature cycles from which feedback on efficiency can be inferred. Electrical load can be determined by measuring or estimating current usage and identifying periods of time when compressors are active in the refrigerator.

Abstract:
Systems and methods are described for tracking a shipping container. Information from a third-party shipping entity is combined with information retrieved from a data logger attached to the shipping container while the shipping container is in transit. The third-party portal provides updates through Email or the like, transmitted to an address that is uniquely associated with the shipping container and its current itinerary.

Abstract:
A shipping container is described for use with methods for monitoring and controlling shipment of a temperature controlled material and determining the remaining useful life of a Thermal Source contained within the shipping container. The container comprises an inner enclosure adapted to carry one or more commodities during shipment, a bladder conformed to the inner surface of the inner chamber, or a plate upon which commodities are place, and instrumented with at least one transducer and at least one processing device configured to receive measurements from the at least one transducer. The processing device communicates the measurements to a networked device upon detecting the presence of a network. The networked device may transmit commands to the processing device that causes the processing device to adjust a configuration parameter.
