    摘要: A method of producing positive multicolor proofs electrostetically including the steps of charging a photoconductor, exposing the charged photoconductor to a negative film, forming a latent electrostatic image on the photoconductor, transfer toning said latent image by virtual contact with a donor member carrying an electrostaticially deposited toner layer. The image remaining on the donor member is transferred to the printing stock paper forming the positive proof. Multiple images are formed from successive film negatives and transferred successively on the printing stock.The deposited form layer is split, between the charged areas on the photoconductor and the image areas on the donor member.

    摘要: Particles containing a releasable fill material and method of preparing same. A particle comprises a continuous polyurea surface layer, and an interior portion comprising a polyurea matrix, said matrix having a fill material contained therein, said matrix forming a continuum extending from the surface layer into the interior of the particle. The particles can be prepared by a method comprising:(1) admixing fill material, an isocyanate, and a matrix-forming co-reactant to form a mixture,(2) emulsifying said mixture in an aqueous medium containing a non-reactive emulsifying agent to provide a dispersion of spheres, and(3) hydrolyzing a first portion of the isocyanate near the surface of said spheres to initiate formation of polyurea at the surface of said spheres as a thin, substantially continuous layer and in the interiors of the spheres as a continuum for some distance beneath the surface of the spheres, and reacting a second portion of the isocyanate within said spheres with said matrix-forming co-reactant to form additional matrix material in the interior of the spheres.

    摘要: An electrophotographic method of producing positive color proof copies from negative films wherein a charged photoconductor is exposed to the negative film and toned with a conductive toner forming image deposits in the unexposed area. The conductive deposits are transferred to a dielectric paper and affixed thereto. The dielectric paper is charged, the charge being accepted only in areas free of the conductive deposits, i.e. the final image areas. The charged areas are toned with color toners and the color toner deposit transferred to printing stock to provide the positive proof.

    摘要: An image reversal process for the production of electrophotographic color proofs from negative separation films where the photoconductive recording member is reusable and the proofs are produced on printing stock paper and which very closely match the appearance of the printed sheet.The process of the invention comprises, exposing a photoconductor that is charged to a first polarity through a color separation negative film which may be in contact therewith, developing the unexposed areas on the photoconductor with opposite polarity background toner to form background deposits thereon in areas corresponding to the opaque non-image or background areas on the negative, subjecting the photoconductor and the background deposits thereon to corona discharge of said first polarity to charge the photoconductor in the areas free of said background deposits, that is, in areas corresponding to the transparent image areas on the negative, removing charges of said first polarity from the background deposits, developing the image area on the photoconductor with opposite polarity color toner, and transferring the thus formed color toner deposits to a receptor such as printing stock paper. The process can be repeated for each additional color separation negative film to transfer the additional specific color developed image in proper registry where a proper toner for the specific color image will be used.
