摘要： Detergent tablets for use in fabric washing are made by mixing: (i) particles which contain non-soap organic surfactant and other materials, especially detergency builder, with (ii) material which is other than soap or organic surfactant and which has a solubility in water of at least 10 gm/liter at 20° C., followed by compacting the mixture into a tablet or a region of a tablet using an applied pressure in a range from 3.0 to 35 MPa. Such a pressure, used with the specified mixture, leads to tablets with good strength which also disintegrates with satisfactory speed.

摘要： A process for washing laundry in a washing machine employs a receptacle for dispensing detergent tablets. The receptacle comprises a loosely fitting net bag having apertures with an average mesh size of between 1 and 10 mm. One or more tablets are placed in the dispensing receptacle before being placed into a washing machine along with laundry to be washed and a washing operation is carried. After the washing operation, the device is removed from the machine and stored for subsequent use. Moreover, the invention relates to a dispensing device for carrying out this process and a use of the device in laundry washing.

摘要： A process for washing laundry in a washing machine employs a receptacle for dispensing a detergent tablet. The receptacle is substantially rigid and includes a number of apertures which have an average dimension equivalent to a mesh size of between 1 and 10 mm. A solid detergent in the form of a tablet is placed in the dispensing receptacle, the latter then being placed into a washing machine along with laundry to be washed and a washing operation is carried out. After the washing operation, the device is removed from the machine and stored for subsequent use. Moreover, the invention relates to a dispensing device for carrying out this process.

摘要： A tablet of compacted particulate detergent composition has an indentation (39) around a periphery of the face (37) of the tablet. The surface circumscribed by the indentation preferably has higher permeability and is rougher than the surface of the indentation (39) itself. Such a tablet can be made by a process in which a detergent composition is compacted in a mould by at least one die with an elastomeric surface layer (36) on an area which contacts the composition, which layer (36) is surrounded by a rigid rim (30) which forms the indentation (39).
