    摘要: An apparatus for processing a substrate with a plasma. The apparatus includes first and second electrodes positioned with a spaced apart relationship. A separating ring has a vacuum-tight engagement with confronting surfaces of the first electrode and the second electrode to define an evacuatable processing region therebetween. Communicating with the processing region is a process gas port for introducing a process gas to the processing region. The processing region may be evacuated through a vacuum port defined in one of the first and second electrodes to a pressure suitable for exciting a plasma from the process gas in the processing region when the first and second electrodes are powered.

    摘要: A tape can comprise a two-sided strip of dielectric material, with patches of electrical conductive material adhering to each side. Patches on one side can be longitudinally offset from patches on the opposite side. The patches can be electrically isolated from one another. The tape can be wrapped around one or more conductors, such as wires that transmit data, to provide electrical or electromagnetic shielding. The patches can circumferentially encase the conductors, with patches on one side of the tape covering gaps on the other side of the tape. The tape can be wrapped around the conductors so that an edge of a patch spirals about the conductors in a rotational direction opposite to any twisting of the conductors. The resulting cable can have a shield that is electrically discontinuous between opposite ends of the cable.

    摘要: A data communication cable can comprise multiple pairs of twisted conductors within an outer jacket. A shielding can be disposed between the conductors and the outer jacket. The shielding may be an asymmetrically clad alloy steel (ACAS) tape wherein the copper cladding of the shield is thicker on a first side and thinner on a second side. When the tape is positioned between the conductors and the jacket, the thicker copper layer can be positioned adjacent to the conductors. The thicker copper layer can reduce the capacitive coupling between the conductors and the steel layer of the shielding tape without the added expense of an inner jacket or increased insulation thickness between the conductors and the shielding tape. The tape may also reduce lightning noise and other electromagnetic interference. Additionally, copper layers of the tape can help prevent corrosion of the inner steel layer.

    摘要: A tape can comprise a strip of dielectric material, with adhering patches of electrical conductive material. The patches can be substantially electrically isolated from one another. The strip can be disposed in a communication cable to provide a shield that is electrically discontinuous or has high resistance between opposite cable ends. Each patch can interact with electromagnetic radiation associated with electrical signals transmitting over the cable. The patches can collectively interact with the transmitting electrical signals in a cumulative or resonant manner to produce a spike in return loss at a particular frequency of the transmitting signals. The frequency location of the spike can depend upon the sizes of the patches, with size impacting manufacturability. The patches can be sized such that the spike falls within an operating frequency of the transmitting signal but is suppressed, so the cable meets return loss specifications while offering manufacturing advantage.
