Abstract: A hybrid material includes a protein matrix and nanoparticles (NPs) of a type of Cu; a preparation method thereof; and the uses thereof. The hybrid material displays activity that inhibits SARS-CoV-2 proteins, which makes it usable as a biocidal agent and as an agent for coating and disinfecting materials selected from metal, paper, textiles and approved surgical face masks.
