摘要: An apparatus and method for allocations segments in a broadband wireless communication system is provided. Sector pairs are generated with respect to all sectors existing in different cells and the generated sector pairs are sorted according to priority based on a proximity. A sector pair having a top priority among unselected sector pairs is selected. Segments are allocated to all sectors of a cell including each sector of the selected sector pair. Accordingly, segments can be allocated to sectors while minimizing downlink throughput deterioration caused by segment duplication.

摘要: An apparatus and a method for reallocating segments in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. An average density for all cells in system and an average minimal inter-cell distance R are computed. A circle is determined having a radius kR and a center at a corresponding cell by increasing a constant k until a density of the circle becomes less than or equal to the average density. A cluster is generated for each cell, which is composed of cells included in the determined circle. Accordingly, segment allocation capability can be improved while minimizing a width of segment reallocation.

摘要: A method of performing hand-over in a personal basic service set (PBSS) including a plurality of stations and one coordinator is provided. An association request frame comprising PCP capability information, and requesting to associate to the PBSS, is received from each of the stations. The PCP capability information comprises information regarding at least one of whether each of the stations supports a power source capability of continuous power supply, whether each of the stations supports a channel time allocation function, and whether each of the stations supports a network clustering function. An association response frame, indicating whether the association request received from each of the stations is approved, is transmitted to each of the stations, and a priority to be a coordinator of the stations is determined based on the PCP capability information. Hand-over is performed with one of the stations according to the determined priority.
