    摘要: In a gaming machine having virtual reels, certain symbols are modified to identify feature units associated with that particular symbol. The feature units carry over for multiple games until extinguished by being used. If a symbol having one or more feature units is involved in a winning combination, the function associated with its feature units, such as an award multiplier, is applied to the player's award. The symbols adjacent to a winning combination of symbols, or the symbols in the winning combination, may be augmented with a feature unit. A symbol accumulating a certain number of feature units may become a wild symbol. By continuing to accumulate feature units over many games, the symbols progressively become more valuable, and the player is incentivized to keep playing the machine. When the player cashes out, the feature units are extinguished.

    摘要: A video gaming machine has M reels, each displaying N symbols when stopped. After a spin of the virtual reels, an initial array of randomly selected symbols is displayed. A processor randomly highlights a symbol in the array that has the feature of swapping positions with any other displayed adjacent symbol. The player has the option to swap the selected symbol with any adjacent symbol by swiping it or touching a displayed arrow. An award is then based on any resulting winning combinations after the swap. The swapping feature may occur only if there are no winning symbol combinations after the spin or may occur for every game. Awards may be granted after the spin and after the swap, or awards may only be granted only after the swap. Therefore, there is an amount of player strategy in the direction of the swap or deciding not to swap at all.

A display controller defines a view window of the three-dimensional game environment. The view window defines a portion of the three-dimensional game environment. A player input device detects a player request interaction input to update the view window to navigate within the three dimensional game environment. In response to detection by the player input device, the display controller updates the view window based on the update action to define another portion of the three-dimensional game environment. The player can navigate throughout the 3D game environment using player request interaction input.
