Abstract:
Dryer section for drying a fibrous web supported by at least one drying fabric. The dryer section includes a plurality of heated drying cylinders, a plurality of guide rolls, and a plurality of dampening devices arranged at different locations relative to the fibrous web. Each dampening device applies a quantity of liquid to the fibrous web. In at least in one of the plurality of dampening devices, the quantity of the liquid is adjustable separately in zones transversely with respect to a web running direction. This Abstract is not intended to define the invention disclosed in the specification, nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.
Abstract:
A process for drying a web provides for guiding a web having a moisture content and subjecting the web to laser radiation to remove at least some portion of the moisture content. A system for drying a web includes at least one laser, a moisture measurement device, and a control device, wherein the control device receives input from the measurement device and influences the at least one laser.
Abstract:
A method for drying a fibrous web, particularly a paper, cardboard or tissue web whereby the moving fibrous web is treated with got air in the area of a pre-definable drying zone the fibrous web is treated, at least in some areas inside the drying zone with steam.

A method for drying a fibrous web, particularly a paper, cardboard or tissue web whereby the moving fibrous web is treated with got air in the area of a pre-definable drying zone the fibrous web is treated, at leas in some areas inside the drying zone with steam.
Abstract:
Device and process for producing and treating a fibrous web. The device includes a moistening unit structured and arranged to simultaneously influence a cross machine moisture profile of the web and the curl of the web independently of each other. The instant abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for determining characteristics of a running material web, the apparatus including at least one measuring device. The at least one measuring device is movable and has at least two degrees of freedom of movement. Each of the at least two degrees of freedom of movement is at least one of a rotary movement and a linear movement. The at least one measuring device is adapted to detect, at a plurality of measurement locations, data relating to at least one measured parameter. The at least one measuring device detects data about at least one of the following measured parameters: measured parameters which relate to a characteristic value of air in a region of the material web; measured parameters which relate to the material web; and other measured parameters. The method includes detecting, at a plurality of measurement locations and using the at least one measuring device, data relating to at least one measured parameter.
Abstract:
System and method of operating a machine for manufacturing and/or refining a material web wherein the machine includes at least one machine section. The method includes arranging a plurality of measurement zones in series along a process direction and detecting data in a region of the at least one machine section via at least one measurement zone of the plurality of measurement zones. The data concerns at least one measured parameter relating to the manufacture or refinement of the material web. The system includes a plurality of measurement zones arranged in series along a process direction of the machine. At least one of the plurality of measurement zones is located in the at least one machine section. At least one measurement device for detecting data is located in at least one of the plurality of measurement zones. An evaluation unit is provided for evaluating the data.
Abstract:
Application device for a paper machine, a paper machine, a nozzle dampener, and a process for improving the surface of offset paper. The application device includes a plurality of nozzles distributed across a machine width as at least one row of nozzles, such that the plurality of nozzles are oriented to spray a passing paper web. The at least one row of nozzles is adapted for an alternative selective throughput of water and binding agent. The paper machine includes the application device. The nozzle dampener includes a plurality of nozzles distributed across a machine width as at least one row of nozzles, such that the plurality of nozzles are oriented to spray a passing paper web. The at least one row of nozzles are adapted to improve paper properties of offset paper by applying a binding agent onto the passing paper web. The process includes supplying a binding agent to at least one nozzle located within at least one of a drying section of a paper machine and a calender of the paper machine, and applying the binding agent across a width of a moving paper web in the at least one of the drying section and the calender.
Abstract:
Apparatus and process in a machine for at least one of producing and processing the fibrous web. The apparatus includes an essentially water-free traveling surface adapted to guide the fibrous web, and a measuring device positioned and adapted to detect moisture content of the fibrous web while the fibrous web is supported by the essentially water-free traveling surface. The process includes guiding the fibrous web on the essentially water-free traveling surface, and detecting a moisture content of the fibrous web while the fibrous web is supported by the essentially water-free traveling surface.
