Abstract: The motor vehicle camera assembly includes a first housing part, a second housing part, and an attaching mechanism for attaching the first and second housing parts together defining an inner space for receiving at least an electronics carrier. The attaching mechanism is configured such that, when the first and second housing parts are attached to each other, the first housing part contacts at least one portion of a first surface of the electronics carrier and the second housing part contacts at least one portion of a second surface of the electronics carrier. The first housing part may be coupled to the second housing part with the electronics carrier being tightly sandwiched there between.

Abstract: Methods are provided for determining whether an image captured by a capturing device is clean or dirty. These methods include: receiving the image captured by the image capturing device; splitting the received image into a plurality of image portions according to predefined splitting criteria; performing, for each of at least some of the image portions, a Laplacian filter of the image portion to produce a feature vector including Laplacian filter features of the image portion; providing the feature vectors to a first machine learning module that has been trained to produce a clean/dirty indicator depending on corresponding feature vector, the clean/dirty indicator including a probabilistic value of cleanness or dirtiness of corresponding image portion; and determining whether the image is clean or dirty depending on the clean/dirty indicators produced by the first machine learning module. Systems and computer programs suitable for performing such methods are also provided.

Abstract: Methods are provided for detecting correct or incorrect operation of a display panel (e.g. LED or OLED) during display of a video signal, the display panel being associable with a controller system. The method comprises: adding, by the controller system, a dynamic pattern into the video signal for inducing the display panel to display the video signal with the added dynamic pattern substantially imperceptible to human vision, and to provoke an expected power consumption evolution during the display of the video signal with the added dynamic pattern; measuring, by the controller system, power consumed by the display panel during the display of the video signal with the added dynamic pattern to determine an actual power consumption evolution; and determining, by the controller system, whether the actual power consumption evolution corresponds to the expected power consumption evolution. Controller systems and computer programs suitable for performing such detection methods are also provided.

Abstract: A camera monitoring system for motor vehicles is provided. An image capturing device is provided on a mounting assembly of the vehicle for an exterior field of view (FOV) of the vehicle extending sideward and rearward outside the vehicle and encompassing a portion of the exterior part of the vehicle. An electronic control unit (ECU) is connected to the image capturing device to obtain a captured image. An electronic display device is connected to the ECU and is located inside the vehicle and to be used by a driver. A gesture detector is configured to obtain at least one position of at least one part of the driver's body. The ECU is configured to adjust the FOV based on the obtained position and the display device is configured to display the adjusted FOV in a displayed image region, which can be moved within the captured image.

Abstract: A display assembly for an imaging device including a display panel, a display, a first control unit, a second control unit and a thermally insulating layer, and a housing. The thermally insulating layer divides the housing in at least a first cavity including the first control unit and a second cavity including the second control unit. The thermally insulating layer preventing heat generated in the first cavity or the second cavity from reaching the other cavity and including an electrically conductive material to at least partially shield electromagnetic radiation generated in the first or the second cavity from reaching the other cavity.
