    Abstract: A gas block for AR-platform firearms is provided which is easier to install and index on a barrel of the firearm by utilizing a wedge (e.g., collet) system. The body of the gas block may therefore be relatively precisely circular, allowing for easy movement into position on the barrel of the firearm. The gas block is stronger, tighter, more durable, and more reliably stays in place than prior art gas blocks. In one embodiment, the gas block eliminates forward gas leakage from between the gas block and barrel. The gas block is interchangeable with standard prior art gas blocks commonly found on barrels of existing AR-platform firearms. The gas block is also compatible with low profile and MLOK handguards for AR-platform firearms.

    Abstract: A gas-delayed blowback firearm includes a lower receiver and an upper receiver releasably coupled thereto. A barrel having a cartridge chamber, an axial bore, and a barrel gas port is secured to the upper receiver. A bolt assembly in the upper receiver reciprocates between a forward in-battery position and a rearward position. A timing block is secured to the bolt assembly. A cylinder housing with an internal gas chamber and a cylinder gas port is secured to the upper receiver. A gas passageway fluidly communicates the barrel gas port with the cylinder gas port. A plunger in the gas chamber is secured to the timing block. The plunger reciprocates with the bolt assembly. Discharge of a cartridge received in the cartridge chamber temporarily pressurizes the gas chamber, applying a forward force to the plunger which causes the plunger to delay rearward travel of the bolt assembly.

    Abstract: A compact stock for an AR-style firearm includes a receiver extension configured to attach to a lower receiver of the firearm, a buffer assembly receivable in the receiver extension, a buffer biasing member receivable in the receiver extension, and a buffer locking mechanism. The buffer assembly is configured to reciprocate between a retracted position wherein the buffer assembly is contained within the receiver extension and an extended position wherein the buffer assembly is in-battery within an upper receiver of the firearm. The buffer biasing member is configured to bias the buffer assembly toward the extended position. The buffer locking mechanism is configured to selectably retain the buffer assembly and the buffer biasing member within the receiver extension when the buffer assembly is in the retracted position such that the upper receiver is rotatable relative to the lower receiver about a forward take down pin of the firearm unimpeded by the buffer assembly and buffer biasing member.

    Abstract: A firearm includes a muzzle device. The muzzle device includes a muzzle adapter and a muzzle attachment. The muzzle attachment suppresses noise and/or redirects gases and recoil. The firearm utilizes recoil operation to cycle such that the barrel reciprocates inside a handguard of the firearm during cycling. The muzzle adapter is attached to the handguard and receives the barrel therein. The muzzle attachment is secured to the muzzle adapter such that the muzzle of the barrel remains longitudinally in the muzzle adapter during discharge and cycling of the firearm.

    Abstract: A system is disclosed for extending a recoil impulse of a gun. The system elongates the recoil impulse to spread the recoil energy over time and reduce felt (i.e., peak) recoil force. Although the system adds weight to a gun, the system reduces felt recoil beyond what is possible by simply adding weight to a gun by using an inertial weight on a spring to absorb and release energy. To prevent shaking, the inertial weight system is tuned to a gun so that the inertial weight hits a pair of stops at certain points in the gun's discharge action cycle.
