摘要: A system, method and filter are provided for restricting event subscriptions. The system includes an event server, such as a session initiation protocol (SIP) event server, capable of maintaining at least one event. Also, the system includes a network entity, such as a requester, capable of sending a subscription message, such as a SIP SUBSCRIBE message, subscribing to the event. Further, the system includes a proxy, such as an SIP proxy, associated with the event server, and in coupled between the event server and the network entity. In this regard, the proxy is capable of receiving the subscription message. The system also includes a filter capable of receiving the subscription message from the proxy. Thereafter, the filter can determine whether the network entity is an authorized subscriber. Then, if the network entity is an authorized subscriber, the proxy can forward the subscription message to the event server.

摘要: A method supporting relocation of an Internet Protocol session during a network layer handover is provided. Application context information is sent to a device. The application context information indicates activities to be executed pro-actively before a network layer handover and includes a requested communication requirement. A first message is received from the device that includes a first indicator indicating whether or not the device can satisfy the requested communication requirement. If the first indicator indicates that the device cannot satisfy the requested communication requirement, the application context information is sent to another device, and a second message is received from the other device. The second message includes a second indicator indicating whether or not the other device can satisfy the requested communication requirement. If the second indicator indicates that the other device can satisfy the requested communication requirement, the other device is selected as a target access router for the network layer handover.

摘要: A method and a system provide a service for a user device with a service provider. The method includes establishing a service provisioning relationship between the user device and a bridging user device through a first wireless network (e.g., a Bluetooth network); providing a desired service for the user device with the service provider via the bridging user device and the first wireless network, and through a second wireless network (e.g., a cellular network) that couples the bridging user device to the service provider; while providing the service, recording charging data for the service provisioning relationship between the user device and the bridging user device; and reporting the charging data from the bridging user device to the service provider. In the preferred embodiment at least the establishing and recording functions use service provider trusted software running on the user device and on the bridging user device.

摘要: A method for supporting relocation of an IP session during a network layer handover in a mobile communication system. In the method, application context information indicating activities that are advantageously executed pro-actively before the network layer handover is sent. The indicated activities are then pro-actively executed in a receiving network node. An advantage of the method and arrangement of the invention is that the pro-active actions, including pre-allocation of some critical resources for seamless handover of an ongoing IP session, facilitate timely implementation of the activities required for handing over an IP session, and/or selection of a target access router.

摘要: The present invention provides methods and apparatus for transmitting multicast data over a wireless channel. At least one wireless terminal requests a multicast service corresponding to at least one requested layer. A wireless infrastructure comprising a base station and a node determines a data rate that the at least one wireless terminal can receive reliably and correspondingly configures a multicast session for at least one layer. The node utilizes measurements provided by the wireless terminal. The node through the base station signals the wireless terminal about a link-level multicast address corresponding to a time slot for which the wireless terminal shall process packets. An associated point of attachment with a core data network controls a data flow from a multicast content source through the core data network in order to match the data rate over the wireless channel.

摘要: An apparatus and method is provided for facilitating the seamless handoff of IP connections between access routers in an IP network. The mobile IP network includes two or more access routers each serving a different geographic service area. When a mobile terminal moves from the first service area to the second service area, the mobile terminal transmits to the second access router the IP address of the previous access router. The second access router uses this information to learn capabilities of the first access router (e.g., bandwidths supported, security schemes, and the like) for use in future handoff decisions, and exchanges capability information with the first access router. The assumption is made based on the exchanged information that the access routers are geographically proximate. When another mobile terminal transitions from one service area to another, the system selects an optimal target access router based on the previously learned information, including the inferred geographic proximity between access routers.

摘要: A system and method are presented for providing a differential location to a terminal. The system includes a service provider that can receive a request for a differential location service from the terminal at least partially over a wireless network, where the request includes a geographic area defined independent of a specific format. A mapping processor can receive the geographic area from the service provider, and thereafter transform the geographic area of the request to thereby define the geographic area in a predetermined manner. The mapping processor can send the geographic area defined in the predetermined manner to the service provider. Upon receiving the geographic area defined in the predetermined manner, the service provider can determine whether to provide the requested differential location service based upon a comparison of a current location of the terminal and the geographic area defined in the predetermined manner.

摘要: A system, method and mobile station are provided for controlling access to an event, where the event is associated with event-based information available within a network. The system includes a first network entity, a second network entity and an event server. The first network entity can control access to the event-based information associated with the event. The first network entity is capable of receiving consent to access the event-based information, and thereafter automatically creating an authorization. After creating the authorization, the first network entity can transmit the authorization, which the second network entity can then receive. Then, the second network entity can transmit a subscription message, where the subscription message includes the authorization and an event package describing the event-based information. The event server, which is capable of maintaining the event, can receive the subscription message, and then determine whether to accept the subscription message based upon the authorization.

摘要: An arrangement and a method is provided for discovering candidate access routers in a mobile IP (Internet Protocol) network to enable seamless IP handover of a mobile node between access routers. A server element (19), which is separate from the access routers (11, 12) and the mobile node (MN), is provided with access router information relating to one or more access routers and with information identifying the access router serving the mobile node and reachability information about one or more access routers other than the serving access router that are within reach to the mobile node. The address of at least one of said one or more access routers within reach to the mobile node is determined in the server element on the basis of the provided information.
