摘要: A stack of eye shields includes a plurality of eye shields each having a frame with receivers located along the frame and latches located to engage the receivers, and spaced apart elevated support surfaces along and rising above an upper portion of the frame; and a lens installed on the frame and having lens apertures extending through the lens and aligned with the receivers of the frame, with the latches engaged with the receivers securing the lens to the frame. The eye shields are stacked one on top of another with each of the eye shields oriented substantially parallel to one another with each of the elevated surfaces of an overlying one of the frames of the stack being slightly forward of a corresponding one of the elevated surfaces of the underlying frame of the stack, with each frame of each eye shield of the stack having a gap therebetween except at contact surfaces where the elevated support surfaces contact an adjacent lower surface of an overlying eye shield. The elevated support surfaces of the frames stabilize the stack of the eye shields for shipping and dispensing of the stack of the eye shields.

摘要: A connector for a NPWT system includes a first section and a second section. The first section has a first reduced pressure lumen and a first secondary pressure lumen for delivering reduced pressure from a pump unit to a primary wound site through the reduced pressure lumen and secondary pressure from the pump unit to the primary wound site through the first secondary pressure lumen. The second section has a second reduced pressure lumen and a vent lumen with the second reduced pressure lumen being in fluid communication with the first reduced pressure lumen of the first section for delivering reduced pressure from the pump unit to a secondary wound site through the second reduced pressure lumen and the vent lumen being in fluid communication with the atmosphere for delivering secondary pressure from the atmosphere to the secondary wound site through the vent lumen.

摘要: A patient positioning system configured for positioning and supporting a patient against movement, the positioning system comprising: an arm positioner configured to be positionable about an arm of the patient. The arm positioner has a triangular wedge with a planar base and an angled leg, an end of the triangular wedge of the arm positioner is located to extend between the base of the arm positioner and the angled leg of the arm positioner and configured to abut the arm of the patient. An upper flexible flap extends away from the angled leg of the arm positioner adjacent the end of the triangular wedge; and a lower flexible flap extends away from the base of the arm positioner adjacent the end of the triangular wedge. The upper flexible flap and the lower flexible flap are configured to be oppositely wrapped around the arm of the patient to snugly envelope the arm and secure it relative to the triangular wedge.

摘要: A fluid medical waste canister has interior surfaces that are exposed only to compressive stresses when a vacuum is applied, thereby eliminating the potential for environmental stress cracking. The canister is compatible with medical procedures that generate fluids having high fat/lipid content, such as liposuction procedures. The canister avoids certain stress concentration distributions that cause cracks to close onto themselves, which can cause one or more pieces of the canister wall to rupture into its interior volume. Because the canister is designed to avoid conditions that initiate canister implosion during liposuction procedures, low-cost polystyrene may be used as a waste canister material for such procedures.

摘要: A specimen retrieval system includes a bag having a flexible basket with an opening configured for receiving a tissue specimen, an elongate tail extending from the flexible basket, a primary loop attached to a proximal end of the tail opposite the flexible basket, and a string encircling the flexible basket and extending therefrom along the tail and terminating exterior of the proximal end of the tail, the string being operable to close the opening of the flexible basket. The system also includes an outer cannula having a distal end and a proximal end with a cannula handle located at the proximal end of the outer cannula, the outer cannula configured to receive the bag therein via the distal end of the outer cannula, with the tail of the bag, the primary loop and a portion of the string extending out of the proximal end of the outer cannula. The system also includes an interior tube having a distal end slidably positionable within the outer cannula via the proximal end of the outer cannula, the interior tube having a tube handle mounted to a proximal end of the interior tube at a location exterior of the cannula handle, the tube handle including a hook rotatably mounted thereon and configured for engaging the primary loop of the bag when rotated to a first position and configured for disengaging from the primary loop when rotated to a second position, and a spring secured within the distal end of the interior tube and extending outwardly of the distal end of the interior tube, the spring connectable to the opening of the basket of the bag.
