Abstract:
A mud flow measurement apparatus is described which is capable of measuring mud flow rate and density at or near the wellhead during a drilling operation. A riser assembly includes a torus wedge meter and density detection elements which are interconnected with a flow computer. Flow parameters are measured for unscreened drilling mud exiting a wellbore.
Abstract:
The apparatus is a portable three-in-one food griller, food smoker and fire pit in which the sidewalls can nest into a compact self-contained unit for easy transportation. In one variation, there are five rectangles with four walls that encompass a void that can be configured and stacked for use as a grill, a smoker or a fire pit. The bottom rectangle can contain an adjustable air inlet door and a grate for holding a fire source. The top rectangle can contain an adjustable air outlet door in the ceiling with a thermometer. The second, third and forth rectangles can contain various configurations of grates for grilling food, smoking food or use as a fire pit. After use, rectangles two through five can fit and nest into the first rectangle (the base) and be latched to the floor section forming a self-enclosed compact and transportable rectangle box with a carrying handle.
Abstract:
A fluid flow measurement system for measuring the flow rate, density and/or other flow parameters of fluid flow through a flowbore. Additionally, the devices and methods advantageously provide for sampling of the fluid flow from different locations within the flow stream (i.e., center, proximate flowbore wall).
Abstract:
A fluid flow meter includes a flow meter body with a central flow passage and flow restriction opening defined therein. Fluid pressure is measured at the flow restriction opening and compared to fluid pressure measured at an upstream point. An annular flow region is defined within the flow meter body radially between the flow restriction opening and a pressure detection port.
Abstract:
At least one server is queried to obtain program data. DVR data is obtained from a digital video recorder, substantially in real time, over a content-based network. The program data and/or the DVR data are displayed on a separate remote device, in communication with the content-based network. A request to record a given program on the at least one digital video recorder is received at the separate remote device. A conflict associated with the request to record the given program is detected, and the conflict is resolved based at least on a user input received at the separate remote device.
Abstract:
Provided according to one or more embodiments herein are methods, systems and related architectures for facilitating network communications between a wireless network-connected thermostat and a cloud-based management server in a manner that promotes reduced power usage and extended service life of a rechargeable battery of the thermostat, while at the same time accomplishing timely data transfer between the thermostat and the cloud-based management server for suitable and time-appropriate control of an HVAC system. The thermostat further comprises powering circuitry configured to: extract electrical power from one or more HVAC control wires in a manner that does not require a “common” wire; supply electrical power for thermostat operation; recharge the rechargeable battery (if needed) using any surplus extracted power; and discharge the rechargeable battery to assist in supplying electrical power for thermostat operation during intervals in which the extracted power alone is insufficient for thermostat operation.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for reducing turbo lag in a boosted engine. A boost reservoir coupled to the engine may be charged with compressed intake air and/or combusted exhaust gas. The pressurized charge may then be discharged during a tip-in to either the intake or the exhaust manifold.
Abstract:
Method for preparing an oxidized polysaccharide-protein composition, by (a) oxidizing a polysaccharide with an oxidizing agent to form an oxidized polysaccharide where less than 20% of the oxidized units are comprised of alpha-hydroxy aldehyde units, (b) reacting the oxidized polysaccharide with a protein to form a composition comprising an oxidized polysaccharide-protein conjugate, and (c) maintaining the oxidized polysaccharide-protein conjugate composition by placing it in an environment where the temperature is less than 8° C. The oxidized polysaccharide and the protein are conjugated via one or more imine bonds, the oxidized polysaccharide-protein composition is soluble in aqueous solvent, and the composition is capable of releasing the protein.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing real-time notification of increased communication in a selected area of interest(s) on a social networking system. A plurality of resource objects are maintained on a social networking system. A resource display interface is provided on a communications device of a user. The social networking system continuously monitors resource object associations. The social networking system identifies changes in resource object associations and mean traffic data for a particular resource object. The resource display interface is updated to display additional changes in resource object associations. The social networking system determines whether mean traffic data on the social networking system for a particular resource object exceeds a threshold established by user filter data. A real-time signal is transmitted indicating that changes in activity on the social networking system for a particular resource object exceeds the threshold established by user filter data.
Abstract:
A DVR controller in network communication with a digital video recorder receives an instruction from a user directing the digital video recorder to perform a function among a set of available functions. The set of available functions comprises a record function operative to cause the digital video recorder to record content and store that content on the digital video recorder, and a playback function operative to cause the digital video recorder to play back content stored on the digital video recorder. Subsequently, at least in part in response to the instructions from the user, the DVR controller issues a command to the digital video recorder to perform the function. The digital video recorder is operative to present content on a presentation device controlled by the user. The DVR controller, in turn, is remotely disposed from the digital video recorder in a facility of a content provider.
