摘要: A computing device system may include a plurality of computing devices and a plurality of racks connected together to form a sled. The plurality of racks may each be connected with a respective set of computing devices of the plurality of computing devices. Each rack of the plurality of racks may include a thermal barrier configured to limit fluid and/or heat transfer. A method of operating computing devices in a facility may include connecting a respective set of computing devices to each of a plurality of racks, connecting the plurality of racks to form a sled, and/or connecting the sled to an opening of a thermal wall separating a first chamber from a second chamber.

摘要: Systems and methods for managing airflow for cooling computing devices in a data center in normal and cold environments are disclosed. Computing devices are positioned on racks, and an air barrier may be connected to the racks and have openings configured to permit air to be drawn through the computing devices by cooling fans. In a first mode, cool air may be drawn in from a cold aisle, and heated air may be exhausted into a hot aisle. Temperature sensors may periodically measure temperatures for the cool air being drawn into the computing devices. A controller may select a subset of the computing devices for air flow reversal in response to the measured temperatures being below a predetermined threshold. Patterns that may be time-varying and temperature-varying may be used to select the computing devices for air flow reversal and to adjust the fan speed of the computing devices.

摘要: A synchronization system configured to identify a first workload file on a central storage and identify a first workload file on a compute system remote from the central storage. The synchronization system determines if the first workload file on the central storage is different than the first workload file on the compute system. If the two first workload files are different, the synchronization system automatically copies the first workload file on the central storage to the compute system so the a compute system workload will be performed using the copy of the first workload file from the central storage and the compute system workload will not be performed using the first workload file on the compute system.

摘要: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are disclosed for implementation and management of a network of computing clusters and interfaces. In various embodiment, a dynamic supercomputing resource marketplace system can include a cluster network having one or more interconnected computing clusters. The dynamic supercomputing resource marketplace system also can include a user interface system or an application program interface system for enabling a user to access the computing clusters. Advantageously, the dynamic supercomputing resource marketplace system can be used to facilitate increased utilization of computing clusters.

摘要: A system and method for efficient (e.g., economical) computing in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles is disclosed. A compute manager is configured to receive and schedule compute tasks for execution on computing cores in the vehicle to increase the usage of recaptured energy that would otherwise be wasted due to battery limitations. Vehicle status information such as current battery charge level and current route may be used to determine whether compute tasks can be beneficially executed.

摘要: A system for cooling computing devices within a facility includes an air inlet that delivers cool air to a supply air space within the facility, an exhaust air damper that is configured to exhaust heated air from an exhaust air space within the facility, and computing devices that are arranged within the facility to at least partially partition the supply air space from the exhaust air space. The system also includes an air filter that is configured to filter the cool air and a mixing damper that is positioned within the interior space of the facility and that is operable to control an amount of exhaust air that is mixed with the cool air. The cool air and/or a portion of the exhaust air are used to cool the computing devices and airflow through the system is substantially driven by fans of the computing devices.

摘要: A system and method for managing large numbers of computing devices in a data center are disclosed. The computing devices are configured to flash their indicator lights in a pattern that encodes a device ID, and an image capture device such as a mobile phone or tablet captures the flashes in a series of images/video of the data center. The images/video are processed to create a three-dimensional (3D) model of the data center with computing device IDs positioned therein. The 3D model, including correctly positioned device ID indicators, can be rendered for the user of the mobile device to enable the user to more easily identify computing device locations.
