    摘要: A microcapsule comprising a hydrophobic core within a polymeric shell, in which the core comprises: (a) 10 to 65% by weight of a hydrocarbon liquid or hydrocarbon wax containing hydrocarbon molecules of between 10 and 24 carbon chain length; and (b) 35 to 90% by weight of an aliphatic acid containing at least 6 carbon atoms, based on the total weight of the core. The microcapsules are suitable for use in heat storage systems and especially in heat transfer systems were it is normally necessary for the density of the microcapsules and the carrier fluid to be essentially the same.

The invention includes a process for the manufacture of particles and the use of particles in articles, such as fabrics, and coating compositions, especially for textiles.

Processes of obtaining the microcapsules and dispersions of microcapsules in a liquid are claimed. The microcapsules can be used in a variety of applications particularly in the field of thermal energy storage. Suitably the microcapsules can be designed to have a particular density and can be used in the transfer fluids where the density of the microcapsules are the same as the carrier fluid.

    摘要: Polymer particles comprising a hydrophobic organic matrix and located at the exterior free cationic groups and a further polymer which comprises free hydroxy groups. The particles are produced by an aqueous suspension polymerization process wherein the continuous aqueous phase contains a polymerization stabilizer and a dissolved vinyl addition cationic monomer. The polymerization stabilizer can be any suitable polymer that comprises free hydroxy groups. The process results in polymers of average particle size in the range 50 to 150 microns and reduced levels of undesired polymer emulsion or undersized particles. The particles are particularly useful for absorbing water insoluble active ingredients, such as insecticides, insect repellents, fragrances, pheromones for subsequent slow release. The cationic surface character of said polymer particles makes them especially useful for forming stable dispersions or slurries in active concentrates such as perfume bases or detergent concentrates. Furthermore these dispersions or slurries remain stable and substantially free of agglomerates. The particles containing active ingredient readily associate with fabrics such as cotton, wool and viscose where the active ingredient is released in a controlled fashion over several days.
