    摘要: A unified dispenser for holding, mixing, and dispensing a drug includes a housing holding a diluent reservoir, a drug reservoir, and a tubing set connecting and defining a fluid communication path therebetween. A first occlusion is at the diluent reservoir, and a second occlusion is at the drug reservoir. In a storage state of the dispenser, the first and second occlusions are entirely encased within the housing and occlude the fluid communication path. First and second pull assemblies extend outside the housing. The first and second pull assemblies are coupled to the first and second occlusions, respectively, so that removal of the first and second pull assemblies removes the first and second occlusions and joins the diluent reservoir to the drug reservoir in fluid communication through the tubing set, thereby arranging the dispenser from the storage state to a use state.

An aseptic connector assembly includes first and second occlusions in the reservoir and the cap. A pull assembly extends from the aseptic connector assembly where it forms the first and second occlusions. The pump has three states. In a storage state, the reservoir is separate from the housing unit and the first and second occlusions cooperate to occlude a wet path extending from the reservoir through the conduit in the cap. In a ready state, the reservoir is applied to the housing unit but the wet path is still occluded. In a use state, the reservoir is applied to the housing unit, the first and second occlusions are removed from the aseptic connector assembly, and the wet path is opened for communication.

    摘要: A dispensing device and the method of making same for dispensing medicaments to a patient that includes a housing, a first assembly connected to the first end of the housing that includes a body portion, and a penetrating sub-assembly. The first assembly also includes a rate control chip of novel construction that is connected to the penetrating sub-assembly and functions to control the rate of flow of medicinal fluid to the patient. Disposed within the housing is a second assembly that includes a shuttle, a collapsible container carried by the shuttle and a plurality of variable force springs that function to thrust the collapsible container into penetrating engagement with the penetrating member of the penetrating assembly and then to collapse the collapsible container to deliver the medicinal fluid to the patient. Connected to the second end of the housing is a novel third assembly that includes an operating member that functions to controllably move the shuttle forwardly of the housing.

The upstream portion of the aseptic connector assembly is coupled to the reservoir, and the reservoir is filled with a liquid medicament. The downstream portion of the aseptic connector assembly is coupled to the tubing set. The reservoir and the upstream portion of the aseptic connector assembly are sterilized together. The downstream portion of the aseptic connector assembly, the tubing set, and the administration line are sterilized together. The upstream portion of the aseptic connector assembly is connected to the downstream portion of the aseptic connector assembly, and the reservoir, pump, and other elements are mounted in the housing.
