摘要： A shear testing tool for specimens of particle board, plywood or the like wherein a specimen of a predetermined standard size is placed such that it bridges the interface of a pair of relatively rotatable contiguous members and sufficient pressure is applied to one member to cause the bond to break. This tool utilizes the destructive torque pressure to determine the tensile strength of the specimen in a direction perpendicular to the surface by means of a correlation factor.

摘要： Douglas Fir bark is extracted with a hot neutral organic solvent to separate the wax from the bark. Thereafter, the residue is heated to desolventize the same and expand the cork fraction substantially in size. Such facilitates efficient subsequent mechanical classification of the cork, bark fiber, and nonfibrous phloem fractions of the bark to a high degree of purity and quality.

摘要： An aerial logging system for logging inclined terrain wherein a static lift balloon is anchored to a carriage engaged on a skyline which may be extended from an uphill point to a yarder drum at the landing. The skyline thus becomes inverted, having an apex at the point where the lift of the balloon is applied. A main line is used to haul the carriage downhill and the lifting force of the balloon moves the carriage uphill as the carriage seeks a natural apex along the skyline, a braking force being applied to the main line to control the speed of the carriage as it returns uphill. The lifting line and chokers are depended from the carriage.

摘要： A level wind apparatus for use in cooperation with a spooling drum to wind the cable evenly across the drum core. The level wind apparatus has a sheave mounted for axial movement along a bar of rectangular cross section while turning about its axis.
