Abstract:
A knitting machine is described, which includes at least one carrier provided with knitting tools (2, 3), a cam mechanism with at least one knitting point (71) for moving selected knitting tools (2, 3) into a yarn pick-up position and a striping attachment for feeding selected yarns to the knitting tools (2, 3) brought into the yarn pick-up position. According to the invention, the striping attachment has at least one first and one second yarn changing device (73, 74) such that yarns (78, 79) fed optionally by the first or the second yarn changing device (73, 74) may be laid into the knitting tools (2, 3) brought into the yarn pick-up position at the knitting point (71) (FIG. 12).
Abstract:
A machine for producing a knitted product by at least partly using untwisted fiber material (4) includes at least one stitch forming system, on which stitch-forming elements (3) can be brought into a fibre pick-up position. A thread guide (27) is associated with the stitch-forming system and has a passage (30) for the fibre material (4). A drafting assembly (9) is associated with the stitch-forming system for attenuation of the fibre material and a spinning device (15), which is arranged between the drafting assembly (9) and the thread guide (27) and contains at least one spinning element (16) working with a blast air flow and a transport tube (17) connected thereto. The transport tube (17) contains an outlet end (17d) for the fibre material opening into the thread guide (27). The outlet end (17d) has an inner cross-section (D2), which is exactly the same size as or smaller than an inner cross-section (D1) at an outlet end of the passage (30). The intensity of the blast air flow is selected such that this is sufficient at least to securely transport the fibre material (4) as far as the stitch forming elements (3) without further auxiliary means.

Abstract:
A method and a knitting machine for producing a knitted product composed of fibre material fed by a roller pair (11c) are described. The stitches are formed as usual by knitting elements (3) being raised out of a non-knitting position into a fibre take-up position, while at the same time previously formed stitches are being knocked over, and being withdrawn again after the fibre material (6) is inserted. The presence of fibre material is monitored by means of a sensor (22), which when there is no fibre material present emits an error signal, as a result of which the knitting elements are prevented from being raised further into the fibre take-up position. According to the invention, when the error signal occurs, the knitting elements (3) are withdrawn from an intermediate position again without the previously formed stitches being knocked over and without the fibre material being taken up. In addition, the sensor is preferably arranged at a location between the roller pair (11c) and the knitting system (4) (FIG. 1).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a machine for the production of a knitted fabric using stretched fiber material (4). The machine comprises a stretching device, a spinning device having a spinning element, a transport pipe (17) connected thereto, and a thread guide (27) equipped with a passage (30) for the fiber material (4). According to the invention, an exit end (17d) of the transport pipe (17) has a cross-section (D2), which is as large as, or smaller than, an inside cross-section (D1) on an exit end of the passage (30). The intensity of the air blast current is selected such that it enables sure insertion of the fiber material (4) in the needles of the machine forming the loops.
Abstract:
A device for transporting fibre material between a drawing frame and a loop-forming machine is described. The device contains at least two transport units which are disposed in succession and have respectively one inlet- and outlet opening, said transport units being formed from respectively one twisting member (16a, 16b, 16c) and one transport pipe (17a, 17b, 17c) connected thereto, there being provided between an outlet end (28) of a preceding transport unit (16a, 17a) and the inlet end of a subsequent transport unit (16b, 17b) a gap (27a, 27b) which is intended for forming an air removal opening. According to the invention, a suction device (31a, 31b) is disposed in the region of this gap (27a, 27b) (FIG. 4).
