    摘要: Systems and methods for selectively cooling heat-generating electronic components in an enclosure. According to one embodiment, an enclosure houses a plurality of heat-generating electronic components. Air enters the enclosure at the front and is exhausted at the rear. After passing through one or more upstream components, air diverges into at least first and second airstreams within the enclosure. The first airstream is re-cooled by a cooling system having a thermoelectric cooling module. The thermoelectric cooling module is configured such that a first side is cooled and a second side is heated in response to an applied voltage. A voltage regulator may govern the voltage in response to one or more temperatures sensed within the rack system.

The air flow directors direct most of the air flow from dual push-pull fans towards a midline and a geometric center of the heat sink base, which is above the hottest part of the integrated circuit (IC) package being cooled by the heat sink. The rest of the air flow from the push-pull fans impinges against the air flow directors, providing additional cooling to the fins.

    摘要: A grease applicator is assembled from three parts, a base unit, a cap unit and a slider unit. The base unit has tenons that couple with corresponding slots in the cap unit to form a cavity with a window opening on a first surface and a slider opening on a second surface where a plane parallel to the second surface is perpendicular to a plane parallel to the first surface. A slider unit is inserted into the slider opening and forms a top surface to the window opening and forming a window cavity for containing a predetermined amount and volumetric shape of grease. The grease applicator is applied to a heat sink with the grease in the window cavity contacting a surface of the heat sink. The slider unit is extracted while pressure is applied to a surface of the grease applicator applying a uniform volume of grease.

    摘要: An assisted heat pipe comprises an evaporator section, a condenser section, and a blower. The evaporator section converts a fluid from a liquid form to a vapor form, and the condenser section converts the fluid from a vapor form to back to a liquid form. The blower is encapsulated within the assisted heat pipe and resides between the evaporator section and the condenser section. The blower rotates and assists the vapor to travel from the evaporator section to the condenser section.
