摘要: A vibratory material handling apparatus is provided for mixing of materials, cleaning, blending and/or shake out of castings or the like. The apparatus comprises a container having a material supporting surface disposed along a generally horizontal longitudinal axis. The container has a material input end and a material discharge end axially spaced therefrom and it is resiliently mounted relative to a mounting surface. The apparatus also includes a vibration generator for producing a force to cause material within the container to be directed in a path of tumbling movement generally in a direction from the material input end toward the material discharge end of the container. With this arrangement, a tumbling assist mechanism is provided for applying a force to the material in addition to the force produced by the vibration generator to facilitate tumbling of the material as it moves along the path of tumbling movement.

摘要: The invention relates to a control system for a vibratory apparatus such as vibratory feeders and vibratory conveyors. An accelerometer is provided for sensing the acceleration of vibratory movement of the vibratory apparatus. The signal generated by the sensing system is transmitted to a control which is capable of modifying the amplitude or the frequency of the vibratory movement imparted to the apparatus and thereby to regulate the operation of the vibratory conveyor or feeder.

摘要: A vibratory stress relief apparatus is provided and has a resiliently supported base and an adjustable rate vibratory member on the base. A housing having a support plate and spaced side walls is resiliently supported on the base. A casting rests in the housing with a closure secured to the support plate in spaced relation to the casting. Shims are provided for positioning the closure a predetermined distance from the casting whereby the vibratory member will vibrate the housing and the casting and will hammer and rattle the casting between the closure and the support plate to relieve stresses in the casting and to clean sand and other impurities from the internal and external surfaces of the casting.

摘要: A vibratory apparatus and method is provided for cooling product as it is conveyed from one station to another. The vibratory apparatus has a conveyor with means for sensing a predetermined weight of product accumulated at a loading portion of the conveyor whereupon the conveyor is operated to convey the product along the conveyor. When the product has been conveyed a sufficient distance along the conveyor for the weight of the product on the loading portion to fall below a second predetermined weight, the sensing means stops the conveyor. The continuously fed product again accumulates on the loading portion of the conveyor until the sensing means senses the first predetermined weight for again operating the conveyor. The cycle is continuously repeated. The accumulated product dwells a sufficient period of time on the conveyor to cool the product which cooling is aided by the vibratory conveying action.

摘要: In a material discharge apparatus, a uniform depth of material is conveyed from the discharge opening of a stationary hopper. The hopper has a rectangularly shaped discharge opening disposed generally in a horizontal plane. A conveyor is disposed below the discharge opening and has a material receiving and conveying trough which is tilted at an acute angle to the horizontal plane. The angular disposition of the trough receives the material from the opening at a substantially uniform depth along the length of the conveyor and conveys the material with the substantially uniform depth to a downstream location. A grate is carried by the conveyor below the discharge opening for supporting the material and for controlling flow of the material from the opening.

Isolation springs (26) mount the bed (10) above the underlying terrain (32) and a vibration inducing assembly (40) that includes a rotatable shaft (56) and an eccentrically mounted weight (58) is mounted to the bed (10). A pair of generally horizontally acting, vibration amplification systems (72) are mounted on the bed (10) and sandwich the vibration inducing assembly (40). Conveying direction can be reversed simply by reversing the direction of rotation of the motor shaft (56).

摘要: Inefficiencies in reclaiming foundry sand from foundry cores made up of sand and an organic resin binder are reduced in a method of reclaiming such sand that includes the steps of reducing a foundry core made up of sand and an organic resin binder to small clumps or individual particles, placing the small clumps or individual particles in a bed and introducing a heated gaseous oxidant into the bed generally from the bottom thereof in sufficient volume to fluidize the bed and at sufficient temperature to oxidize the resin binder on the small clumps or individual particles. Also disclosed is an apparatus for performing the method.

摘要: A vibratory conveying apparatus including a material carrying member having a material supporting surface is disclosed. The apparatus includes first and second vibrators for producing first and second vibratory forces for imparting movement to the material carrying member at first and second acute angles to the material supporting surface. The vibratory forces of the first and second vibrators each have a vertical force component as well as a horizontal force component for imparting movement to a material on the material supporting surface in the first and second directions relative to the material supporting surface. The apparatus also includes an actuator for controlling the first and second vibrators in such manner as to impart controlled movement to the material relative to the material supporting surface in the first direction, the second direction, or vertically. In a preferred embodiment, the vibratory conveying apparatus is able to vary the angle of attack and direction of the material relative to the material supporting surface.
