Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for decoding a Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC) code in a communication system. In the LDPC decoding apparatus, an edge memory stores a message delivered through an edge between a variable node and a check node. A node memory stores a node value. A node processor performs a node processing operation using information stored in at least one of the node memory and the edge memory, stores a check node value generated by performing the node processing operation in the node memory, and stores a message generated by performing the node processing operation in the edge memory. A switch switches outputs of the node memory and the node processor through a permutation operation. A parity check verifier parity-checks an output from the node memory. A controller provides a control signal for controlling the node processor.

An uplink (UL) power control apparatus and method in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. The Mobile Station (MS) includes a power controller for calculating a power compensation value using a last transmit power in a previous closed loop power control when a power control mode is changed to an open loop power control, and determining a transmit power according to the open loop power control using the power compensation value; and a transmitter for adjusting and transmitting the transmit power of a UL signal under control of the power controller.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for receiving a signal by a receiver in a communication system, the method includes receiving a signal; estimating a first noise value by using a reference signal included in the received signal; estimating a second noise value by using at least one subcarrier which has been unused for a transmission of data and the reference signal; and when a difference between the estimated first noise value and the estimated second noise value is greater than a threshold value, demodulating the data by using an interference removal algorithm.
Abstract:
A method of determining cell reselection in a mobile communication terminal and an apparatus therefor are provided. The method includes receiving system information to calculate a threshold value in consideration of channel quality, a cell reselection weight value, and a cell reselection reference value; and determining whether to perform cell reselection using the threshold value in consideration of the channel quality, the cell reselection weight value, and the cell reselection reference value in a specific wireless environment.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an accounting method and an accounting apparatus in a mobile communication system. The amount of radio resources and traffic used by a mobile terminal of each subscriber accessing a base station can be measured and analyzed without changing a structure of the mobile communication system. In addition, since a provider who does not own an IP network and thus uses a leased network of an existing provider can measure and analyze the amount of traffic used by a mobile terminal in the leased network regardless of an IP network of the existing provider, a more precise accounting reference can be provided to the corresponding provider.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a swing hinge device for semi-automatically rotating a pair of facing housings of a mobile terminal on a step-by-step basis, for use in a mobile terminal having a first housing and a second housing with a display unit rotatable around a hinge axis extending in a direction perpendicular to a top surface of the first housing, the swing hinge device includes a rotation member rotatable around the hinge axis; a plate-type swing hinge member rotatably connected to the rotation member to semi-automatically rotate the rotation member on a step-by-step basis; a power supply means mounted in the swing hinge member to supply power for semi-automatically rotating the rotation member; and at least one swing locking means formed along the perimeter of the swing hinge member to lock or release the rotation member for the step-by-step interrupted rotation of the rotation member.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for generating LLRs in an MIMO communication system. In a receiver for a spatial multiplexing communication system, a determiner performs an MML decoding operation in an ascending or descending order of TX antennas to estimate a plurality of candidate TX vectors. A distance calculator calculates a Euclidean distance for each of the candidate TX vectors from the determiner. An LLR calculator calculates LLRs using the Euclidean distances from the distance calculator. Accordingly, it is possible to generate an LLR with high reliability at low complexity in an MIMO communication system.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of scheduling data packets in a communication system are provided, in which the number of first-type data packets to be transmitted with priority is determined according to a predetermined criterion from among total first-type data packets, and the determined number of first-type data packets and second-type data packets are scheduled so as to transmit the determined number of first-type data packets and then transmit the second-type data packets.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method is provided for increasing a channel change speed in a Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) receiving terminal. The apparatus includes a DMB buffering unit for buffering DMB data, a DMB extractor for extracting only DMB data of a currently set channel, and a controller for setting a changed channel into a DMB signal-receiving unit so that a DMB program can be output using extracted DMB data. DMB data output from the DMB signal-receiving unit is stored in the DMB buffering unit, and DMB data according to a channel set by the user is extracted. Thus, a channel change can be performed without stopping or restarting a DMB receiving operation of the DMB receiving unit, and the time required for the channel change is reduced.
Abstract:
A method of reporting channel state information by a Mobile Station (MS) in a mobile communication system is disclosed. The method includes measuring a state of a downlink channel for the entire frequency band, determining a first Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) level corresponding to the measured channel state, and reporting the determined MCS level to a Base Station (BS).
