    Abstract: In some examples, an analyzer manager configured to select one of a program code analyzer, a static data analyzer, and an unused memory location analyzer for malware detection within memory of a system. The program code analyzer can be executed to evaluate instruction data for executing a computer program at a first set of memory locations within the memory for malware in response to being selected by the analyzer manager. The static data analyzer can be executed to evaluate static data for use by the computer program at a second set of memory locations within the memory for the malware in response to being selected by the analyzer manager. The unused memory location analyzer can be executed to evaluate null data indicative of unused memory locations at a third set of memory locations within the memory for the malware in response to being selected by the analyzer manager.

    Abstract: A fluid separator includes a separator housing defining a longitudinal bore having first and second bore ends. A first fluid passage is in fluid communication with the bore at the first bore end. A second fluid passage is in fluid communication with the bore adjacent the second bore end. A third fluid passage is in fluid communication with a portion of the bore spaced apart from both the first and second bore ends. A free-floating piston is located inside the bore and configured for longitudinal movement with respect to the bore responsive to fluid pressure within the bore. A biasing spring urges the piston toward the second bore end. An end cap is located at the second bore end. The end cap is maintained on the housing via at least two retainers.

    Abstract: A system and a method for identifying a non-switching semiconductor switch are proposed. The system has a first acquisition component, a second acquisition component and a determination unit. The first acquisition component is designed to acquire a profile of an electrical variable of a first semiconductor switch driven by way of a first drive signal. The second acquisition component is designed to acquire a profile of an electrical variable of a second semiconductor switch driven by way of a second drive signal and connected in parallel with the first semiconductor switch. The determination unit is designed to use the profile of the electrical variable of the first semiconductor switch and the profile of the electrical variable of the second semiconductor switch as a basis for determining an output signal that allows identification of a non-switching semiconductor switch for the first semiconductor switch and/or the second semiconductor switch.

    Abstract: A method of detecting epithelial cancer is described that includes the steps of: (a) determining the level of beta defensin 3 (BD-3) and beta defensin 2 (BD-2) in a suspect sample obtained from a subject; (b) comparing the level of BD-3 to BD-2 determined in the suspect sample to obtain a suspect BD-3/BD-2 ratio, (c) comparing the suspect BD-3/BD-2 ratio to a healthy BD-3/BD-2 ratio to obtain a diagnostic BD-3/BD-2 ratio; and (d) characterizing the subject as having epithelial cancer if the diagnostic BD-3/BD-2 ratio is greater than 1. A microfluidic device for detecting epithelial cancer using the diagnostic BD-3/BD-2 ratio is also described.
