摘要: An electrical system forming part of a solar power plant is described. The electrical system includes a plurality of photovoltaic (PV) panels, a power converter, and a controller. In response to a detected electric arc on the DC side of the power converter, the controller is configured to enable a short circuit state of the power converter by controlling semiconductor switches of the power converter (e.g., turning on some or all of the semiconductor switches) to create a short circuit between DC input terminals of the power converter. The short circuit path though the power converter will extinguish the detected electric arc in the connected DC circuit.

摘要: A stator for an electrical machine is described. The stator includes a plurality of axially adjacent generally annular laminations. An axially extending coolant passageway through which a coolant fluid flows in use, extends through the stator. A plurality of axially spaced sealing recesses are provided. Each sealing recess is located between a pair of laminations and is in open communication with the surface of the axially extending coolant passageway. Each sealing recess has an axial width greater than the gap between the facing planar surfaces of axially adjacent laminations and is at least partially filled with a cured resin material to define a plurality of axially spaced seals.

摘要: The invention relates to a cover to enclose a longitudinal section of at least one electrical conductor and prevent the formation of an arc or a flashover. The cover has at least two cover parts made of an electrically insulating material. A first cover part and a second cover part each have at least one passage opening. Each passage opening has an electrical conductor guided through it, so that no gap opening, or only a small gap opening remains between the outside surface of the conductor and a bordering wall of the passage opening. Moreover, the cover has at least one connection location. At this connection location, two of the cover parts that are present lie against one another in a force-fit and/or positive-fit manner and form a nondestructively detachable connection. This ensures accessibility to the protected longitudinal section.

The control device comprises multiplexer/demultiplexer device(s), which comprises an uplink port for connection to the central control unit, a plurality of downlink ports for direct connection to a communications interface of an associated power cell, and a communications control and management module. The communications control and management module may extract information from a transmit frame received from the central control unit via the uplink port, may feed this information to the corresponding downlink port for the relevant power cell , may insert response information received from particular power cells into a receive frame, and may send this via the uplink port to the central control unit.

摘要: An inverter and method of controlling an inverter, which is connected between a photovoltaic generator and a power supply network for ride-through of a network fault, is disclosed. A voltage dip is detected in the network voltage and the voltage of a DC voltage link of the inverter is monitored. When the DC link voltage exceeds an upper limit value, an operating mode for ride-through of the network fault is started. The upper limit value corresponds to a saturation voltage in the specific Iac/Udc characteristic curve of the inverter, above which the maximum AC output current of the inverter decreases. In the FRT operating mode, an energy dissipation device dissipates power from the DC voltage link and is controlled to keep the DC link voltage within a range below the saturation voltage.

摘要: A battery energy storage system is disclosed, the battery energy storage system comprising a rechargeable battery assembly for storing and providing energy and a protection system including an arc flash protection device to protect against risks due to arc flashes. The arc flash protection device comprises an overcurrent protection unit which detects overcurrent conditions indicating arc flash conditions in case of a low impedance of the battery assembly and an undervoltage protection unit which detects undervoltage conditions indicating arc flash conditions in case of a low impedance of the battery assembly, wherein upon detecting the overcurrent conditions and/or the undervoltage conditions for a predetermined minimum time period, the arc flash protection device initiates protective measures to prevent further operation of the battery assembly. An energy conversion system comprising such a battery energy storage system, which can be used for stationary and mobile energy supply or distribution applications, is also disclosed.
