Abstract:
A delivery apparatus (11) for full-calibre submunitions or the like payloads (12) which are coaxially stacked in its load space (19) results in a system which operates in a fault-free manner when, for ejecting the payloads (12), detachment of the load space (19) from the rocket motor (17) disposed therebehind and detachment of the ogive (14) from the opposite end of the load space (19) are each promoted by a pyrotechnic charge (28, 31), with the load space (19) being braked as a result of being positioned transversely beside the trajectory (26) of the separated motor (17) which flies further along the trajectory and past the load space in a stable configuration and with the load space (19) only then being turned by a braking parachute (23) connected to its end (22). The load space tail (18) which thereafter then faces forwardly in the direction of flight is opened by detachment of a cover (25) and the load space (19) is pulled away from the payload stack (12--12) by means of the braking parachute (23).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a copper-nickel-silicon alloy with a composition Cu (balance), Ni 1.5-5.5%, Si 0.2-1.05, Fe 0-0.5% and Mg 0-0.1% (all in percent by weight), and use of the alloy for pressure-englazable casings. The method permits an alloy with a very high elastic limit with very good conductivity and good cold reformability and differs from the conventional method of manufacturing such alloys by heating to about 950.degree. C. and fairly rapid cooling after a preceding cold rolling operation. An improvement in the properties can be achieved by ageing of the alloy at 300.degree. C. to 600.degree. C. for several hours.
Abstract:
A ballistic projectile including a subcaliber-sized penetrator which is coaxially carried in the casing of the projectile, and in which the penetrator additionally carries an explosive charge. The projectile possesses a proximity fuze at its tip which electrically triggers a penetrator-propellent charge which is arranged in the projectile base and which fills the volume of the projectile base, which accelerates the penetrator through a therebetween arranged propellant base, and in which the penetrator additionally possesses an impact detonator.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a secondary projectile for a tandem warhead including a forwardly located active charge, a rearwardly located active charge and a fuze which is arranged therebetween, and whose triggering direction is oriented towards the forwardly located active charge, whereby the transmission of the ignition or triggering is implemented forwardly through the intermediary of a booster charge and towards the rear through the use of a cross-triggering device. The booster charge which is triggered by the fuze consists of an explosive material and lies directly against the forwardly located active charge, and wherein the booster charge at the other side thereof is separated by thin cross-ignitable wall segments of a housing of the cross-triggering device from at least two tongue-shaped explosive material poles of the rearwardly located active charge.
Abstract:
A gas-generating module for an airbag utilized in motor vehicles, which includes a gas-generating composition and an igniting composition arranged within a container. The gas-generating composition is presently in the shape of a foil-like layer or coating, or alternatively consists of a granulate, and is constituted from components which are a mixture of a composition which is based on a metal azide and an oxidizing agent; a first binder for the granulation of the composition; a second elastic binder and a rapidly combusting igniting mixture whereby the elastic foil layer is arranged in a casing which is pressure-resistant up to a specified degree and which consists of a relatively gas-tight fabric.
Abstract:
A sensor arrangement for an active member, especially such as a landmine which is deployed against ground and airborne target objects, including a waking or proximity sensor which is responsive to the approach of a target object. A high degree in the precision of direction-finding, in addition to target classification; can be achieved by means of a larger passive bearing or direction-finding base, such as can be set up through the positioning of at least three microphones about the mine or at a certain distance from the mine. Hereby, such a passive acoustic direction-finding or bearing base evidences the advantage in contrast with essentially the active high-frequency direction-finding, in that the mine cannot be located from the target object and thus is able to remain in constant operation upon the activation of a waking or proximity sensor without any danger of the mine having its presence betrayed. For a remote distance resolution for a multiple target-recognition, there must be evaluated a larger passive measurement base, as a result of which this evaluation, for instance, is then operatively associated with the active sensor (radar).
Abstract:
A method for activating a mine possessing a specified activation radius; in particular an anti-helicopter mine, which is brought into an alarm condition by acoustic signals. In the alarm condition of the mine, an NLOS-radar is activated, through which the target speed and the target range of a helicopter are detected and the result of the detection is compared with the specified activation radius of the mine. Full activation of the mine is then implemented when the detection result is smaller than the activation radius, or a further or renewed NLOS-radar detection is effected when the detection result is greater than the activation radius of the mine.
Abstract:
A warhead which may be integrated, for example, in a bazooka, is capable of shooting through a wall protecting an enemy. For that purpose, a tandem charge includes a hollow charge which produces in the wall a firing passage for a follow-up charge. The follow-up charge is in the form of a fragmentation projectile which produces fragments behind the wall.
Abstract:
A vibration eliminator or suppressor for an actuating element of a set of components or aggregate, such as the clutch arrangement of a motor vehicle. A transitional element between a wire cable or a linkage and a lever of the aggregate is constructed as a cage, wherein the lever is floatingly or swimmingly supported within the cage through a prestressed two-component rubber spring, with the lever being fixedly connected with the rubber spring, and a weight being fastened to the cage. Through the intermediary of this structure there is achieved a complete isolation of any vibrations between the clutch shift and the clutch drive train due to the rubber spring.
Abstract:
A circuit arrangement for the operation of a fluorescent lamp which is connectable to an alternating-current power supply, for example, the elctrical power supply on board an aircraft, including a switch which is located between the lamp electrodes, and which is actuatable through the intermediary of a control circuit whereby the lamp electrodes are heated when the switch is closed. A measuring element which is connected to the input of the control circuit determines the decreasing voltage at least at one of the lamp electrodes, and the control circuit will open the switch for the ignition of the fluorescent lamp only when the determined voltage is essentially constant, or has reached a threshold value.
