摘要: Systems, methods, and apparatus embodiments for electric power grid and network registration and management of active grid elements. Grid elements are transformed into active grid elements following initial registration of each grid element with the system, preferably through network-based communication between the grid elements and a coordinator, either in coordination with or outside of an IP-based communications network router. A multiplicity of active grid elements function in the grid for supply capacity, supply and/or load curtailment as supply or capacity. Also preferably, messaging is managed through a network by a Coordinator using IP messaging for communication with the grid elements, with the energy management system (EMS), and with the utilities, market participants, and/or grid operators.

摘要: Systems, methods and apparatus for electric power grid management and communications are disclosed. At least one active grid element is constructed and configured in network-based communication with a server via at least one coordinator. The at least one active grid element communicates Internet Protocol (IP)-based messages with the server via the at least one coordinator in real time or less than 15 minutes interval. The at least one active grid element participates actively in an electric power grid. The at least one active grid element has an energy consumption pattern or an energy supply pattern. The IP-based messages comprise at least one IP packet including a content, a priority, a security, and a transport route. The content comprises an amount of power available for the electric power grid or an amount of curtailment power available at an attachment point of the at least one grid element.

摘要: Systems for providing operating reserves to an electric power grid are disclosed. In one embodiment, a system comprises at least one power consuming device, at least one controllable device, and a client device constructed and configured in network communication. The at least one controllable device is operably coupled to the at least one power consuming device. The at least one controllable device is operable to control a power flow from the electric power grid to the at least one power consuming device responsive to power control instructions from the client device. Each of the at least one power consuming device has an actual value of power reduced and/or to be reduced based on revenue grade metrology, and confirmed by measurement and verification. The actual value of power reduced and/or to be reduced is a curtailment value as supply equivalence and provides operating reserve for the electric power grid.

摘要: Systems, methods, and apparatus embodiments for electric power grid and network registration and management of physical and financial settlement for participation of active grid elements in supply and/or curtailment of power. Settlement is provided for grid elements that participate in the electric power grid following initial registration of each grid element with the system, preferably through network-based communication between the grid elements and a coordinator, either in coordination with or outside of an IP-based communications network router. A multiplicity of active grid elements function in the grid for supply capacity, supply and/or load curtailment as supply or capacity, and are compensated through settlement for their functional participation in the electric power grid. Also, messaging related to settlement is managed through a network by a Coordinator using IP messaging for communication with the grid elements, with the energy management system (EMS), and with the utilities, market participants, and/or grid operators.

摘要: Systems and methods for financial settlement of transactions within an electric power grid network are disclosed. A multiplicity of active grid elements are constructed and configured for electric connection and network-based communication over a blockchain-based platform. The multiplicity of active grid elements are operable to make peer-to-peer transactions based on their participation within the electric power grid by generating and executing a digital contract. The multiplicity of active grid elements generate messages autonomously and/or automatically within a predetermined time interval. The messages comprise energy related data and settlement related data. The energy related data of the multiplicity of active grid elements are based on measurement and verification. The energy related data and the settlement related data are validated and recorded on a distributed ledger with a time stamp and a geodetic reference.

摘要: Systems, methods, and apparatus for smart electric power grid communication are disclosed in the present invention. At least one grid element transmits at least one registration message over an Internet Protocol (IP)-based network to at least one coordinator. The at least one coordinator registers the at least one grid element upon receipt of the at least one registration message. The at least one grid element automatically and/or autonomously transforms into at least one active grid element for actively functioning in the electric power grid. The at least one coordinator tracks based on revenue grade metrology an amount of power available for the electric power grid or a curtailment power available from the at least one active grid element.
