The battery module has a module side which is opposite the housing component with respect to a first direction, and which has a contiguous degassing subregion in which all cell degassing openings are arranged. Between the housing component and the degassing subregion there is a gap subregion having passage areas, which are each arranged directly below a respective, assigned cell degassing opening with respect to the first direction. The thermal protection device is arranged in the gap subregion and is formed using a thermally expandable material in such a way that it expands when a predetermined limiting temperature is exceeded.

The control module is also designed to continue to communicate the configuration for the local wireless communication in the second frequency band to at least one mobile device of the mobile radio system that is close to a vehicle.
