    摘要: The darkening screen comprises two fabrics, namely a first fabric (10) which comprises in machining direction first strips of film material and first threads (2) in between the first strips, and a second fabric (11) which comprises in machining direction second strips of film material and second threads (6) in between the second strips. The first (2) and the second threads (6) of the first (10) and the second fabric (11) have water transporting capacity. In order to obtain improved moisture transporting properties whilst maintaining a low hemispherical light transmission the first threads (2) are aligned with said second threads (6) and are situated, in a direction perpendicular to said first (10) and second fabric (11), opposite to said second threads (6) to form pairs of first and second threads. In a number of these pairs the first thread (2) is connected at different locations by cross-connections (16) to the second thread (6), more particularly by means of a first yarn (4) of the first fabric which extends in the cross-machining direction, to thereby fix the first fabric (10) to the second fabric (11). The cross-connections (16) preferably hold the first threads (2) at least at the location of the cross-connections (16) against the second threads (6).

Spacer yarns connect the knitted layers, and at least one of the knitted layers are composed of nonconductive yarns and conductive yarns. The conductive yarns are incorporated into the one knitted layer in some areas in a functional region extending in a production direction and resting on the respective knitted layer in a connection region that extends over a plurality of rows of stitches as a float stitch.

    摘要: One or more electrical components may be incorporated into a fabric seam. The fabric seam may join two pieces of material in a fabric item or may form the border of a fabric item. The fabric seam may include first and second fabric portions with one or more conductive strands extending between the first and second fabric portions. An electrical component may be coupled to the conductive strand. The fabric seam may have one or more side pockets for capturing the edge of a material such as a piece of fabric. The fabric seam may have gaps that allow conductive strands within the fabric seam to branch off in different directions. Openings may be incorporated in the fabric seam to allow air or light to pass through and/or to form a window for an electrical component in the fabric seam.

    摘要: A knitted spacer fabric has a tightly knitted bottom layer, a more loosely knitted upper layer and linking fibres extending across the space between the lower and upper faces. Settable material, e.g. cement, is introduced into the space between the upper and lower faces and can be caused to set by the addition of a liquid, e.g. water. Until set, the fabric is flexible and can be shaped but after the material in space has set, the fabric is rigid and can be used as a structural element in a wide range of situations. The bottom layer has an extension that extends beyond the upper face and is connected to the upper face by elastic connecting fibres that draw the extension towards the other face, thereby at least partly closing the space at the edge of the cloth and preventing the settable material from spilling out. In addition, the packing of the settable material and maximum space between the faces are such that only a predetermined amount of liquid can be accommodated within the space and that amount is matched to the water required to set the cement.

    摘要: Two-sided warp-knitted fabrics having perforations possessing elastic qualities are usable in the medical industry for making warming products such as belts, bands, and compression bandages. A fabric includes, in its warp, wales having a closed-chain weave made of synthetic threads with elastomeric threads disposed inside of the wales, and, in its weft, thread systems made of a wool yarn or a yarn including wool, and, for a bandage, thread systems made of a natural yarn and/or an artificial yarn and/or a synthetic yarn. One system forms the front side and the other forms the back side of the fabric. The fabric has sections with weft threads missing in the courses of the fabric, and in the place of the weft threads are perforations, the minimal width of each perforation being equal to the distance between wales. A breathable fabric is produced suitable for making the aforementioned medical products.

The strands may be intertwined by a warp knitting machine to produce a warp knit fabric. The warp knit fabric may include intertwined warp strands and weft insertion strands that are inserted amongst the warp strands. The weft insertion strands may extend across less than all of the warp strands. The weft insertion strands may include parallel segments that each extend across a different portion of the warp strands. The segments of weft insertion strands may have different widths relative to one another and relative to the width of the fabric. The weft insertion strands may be inserted into the warp knitting machine across the warp strands using a weft insertion device that is positioned by a computer-controlled positioner.
