The present invention is a photographic paper which includes a paper sheet with a polyolefin resin layer on each surface of the paper sheet. The photographic paper includes a print retaining antistatic layer having a dry coverage of from 80 mg/m.sup.2 to 1000 mg/m.sup.2 on one of the free surfaces of the polyolefin layers. The print retaining antistatic layer includes a smectite clay, and a polymeric binder wherein the polymeric binder can sufficiently intercalate inside or exfoliate the smectite clay. The photographic paper can include a silver halide light sensitive emulsion layer on the other free surface.

There is disclosed a silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material having at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a base, wherein the said silver halide emulsion layer contains at least one cyan dye-forming coupler and a polymer represented by formula �I!:--(A).sub.X --(B).sub.y -- formula �I!wherein A represents a repeating unit derived from at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer having at least one --COOM group in the molecule, wherein M represents a hydrogen atom or a cation atom; B represents a repeating unit derived from at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer free from a --COOM group, and x and y are 15 to 85 and 85 to 15, respectively, in terms of weight percentages of A and B, provided that x+y=100. This light-sensitive material can be color-developed in a short period of time, is high in color-forming properties, can produce a cyan dye image improved with regard to blix fading, and can be processed to give a color photograph that keeps the color balance of the image from being destroyed and is improved in image quality.

The invention provides photographic paper having increased image stability. The invention is generally accomplished by forming a paper sheet, drying said paper in a first stage to below about 10 percent water, then applying a polyvinyl alcohol solution to both sides of said paper sheet, drying said paper in a second stage to below about 5 percent water, and then applying further polyvinyl alcohol solution to said paper and drying in a third stage. The paper then may be coated to form a silver halide photosensitive color paper. The paper contains between about 4 and about 6 weight percent of polyvinyl alcohol that is concentrated near the surface of said paper. Further, the paper has a oxygen leak rate of less than about 25 cc/m.sup.2 /day and an oxygen GTR rate of less than about 1 cc/m.sup.2 /day.

The antistatic layer includes a polymeric latex binder and a non-ionic surface active compound having poly(ethylene oxide) and an alkali metal salt wherein the non-ionic surface active compound is between 0.1 and 4 percent by dry weight of the antistatic layer.

The photographic material can be processed rapidly to form a color image having high sharpness while having high whiteness in the background area. The material has high folding resistance, and the density of the image at the folded part is not lowered. Even when the material is cut with a dull cutter, the edges of the resulting pieces are not rough. The edges of the pieces are not colored by development.
