The electric actuator is provided with: an electric motor drivable in a forward/reverse direction and operationally controlled by a motor control unit according to rotational loads; a conversion mechanism capable of converting a rotational motion into a linear motion, moving the parking lever from a return position toward an operating position through forward rotation of the electric motor, and moving the parking lever from the operating position toward the return position through the reverse rotation of the electric motor; and a load applying mechanism (a stopper and a disc spring assembly) for applying a predetermined rotational load to the electric motor by driving a constituent member of the conversion mechanism after the parking lever is moved from the operating position to the return position through the reverse rotation of the electric motor.

    摘要: An improved bracket assembly for receiving a brake assembly and a brake actuator is provided. The bracket assembly includes a tube configured to receive a camshaft of the brake assembly and an actuator mounting bracket disposed proximate a first end of the tube. The actuator mounting bracket is configured for coupling to the actuator and defines an aperture configured to receive the tube. The bracket assembly further includes a brake spider mounting bracket disposed proximate a second end of the tube. The spider mounting bracket includes a body defining inboard and outboard sides, is configured to receive a brake spider on the outboard side and defines an aperture configured to allow the tube to extend therethrough. The spider mounting bracket further includes a neck extending from the inboard side of the body that is configured to receive the tube and positions the weld away from the body to reduce stress.

The brake comprises a strut (32, 132, 232) disposed between two brake shoes (12, 112, 212; 14, 114, 214) and maintaining the brake shoes in spaced-apart relationship through a wear compensating device (38, 137, 138, 237, 238). The strut includes an inclined plane (60, 160, 260) cooperating, in proportion to wear of the friction elements (16, 116, 216; 18, 118, 218), with a projection (64, 164, 264) carried by one shoe, the inclined plane approximating an arc of a circle centered on the center of rotation of the associated shoe during wear of the associated friction elements. The invention may be applied to brakes for automotive vehicles.

    摘要: A drum brake used in a vehicle generally includes a backing plate secured to a non-rotatable member of a wheel shaft; a pair of brake shoes slidably attached to the backing plate; a wheel cylinder disposed between each end portion of the brake shoes where they are closely positioned to each other; and a substantially U-shaped return spring to be engaged with each web portion of the brake shoes at the extreme ends thereof for biasing both in a mutually approaching direction. The U-shaped return spring in this invention is characteristically provided with, at each end portion thereof, where the same is engaged with each web portion of the shoes, a notch whereinto the web portion is to be fitted for securely positioning the return spring.
