This disc-shaped recording medium manufacturing method is that a spacer layer having recording faces on both surfaces thereof is formed between the disc-shaped substrate and the stamper, a notch is formed in the vicinity of an outer peripheral edge of the stamper by a rotary blade of a circle cutter, and the stamper is exfoliated through the notch while the spacer layer stays on the disc-shaped substrate.

    摘要: The present invention provides a sputtering target for a phase change memory and a phase change memory film formed with such a target, and the manufacturing method thereof, characterized in that the sputtering target is composed from elements of not less than a three component system and has as its principal component one or more components selected from stibium, tellurium and selenium, and the compositional deviation in relation to the intended composition is ±1.0 at % or less. This sputtering target for a phase change memory is capable of reducing, as much as possible, impurities that cause the reduction in the number of times rewriting can be conducted as a result of such impurities segregating and condensing in the vicinity of the boundary face of the memory point and non-memory point; in particular, impurity elements that affect the crystallization speed, reducing the compositional deviation of the target in relation to the intended composition, and improving the rewriting properties and crystallization speed of the phase change memory by suppressing the compositional segregation of the target.

    摘要: Improved techniques for forming a reflective layer of an optical disc are provided. One improvement includes forming the reflective layer over an information layer of the disc by utilizing a metallizer and a masking device having an angled lip configured to align to an outer edge of the information layer. The masking device allows the applied reflective layer to extend to the outer diameter edge of the information layer, and shields plasma generated by the metallizer from reaching internal components of the metallizer. The masking device may include a pusher having a spring mechanism attached to an inner masking portion of the masking device. When the disc and the pusher are brought into relative contact with each other by application of a first force to at least one of the masking device and the disc towards the other, the pusher is spring-loaded and is pushed up into a recess of the inner masking portion, and when the first force is removed, the spring-loaded force of the pusher pushes the disc away from the masking device.
