Abstract:
The present invention relates to a collision prevention apparatus and system for a parking lot and, more specifically, to an apparatus and system which, when a part of a car is detected within a safety distance, indicates the distance to a parking lot wall or outputs a warning so as to prevent a driver of the car from running the car into the parking lot wall. According to the present invention, the collision prevention apparatus and system for a parking lot is installed on the wall surface of a curved ramp for entering and exiting a parking lot, a pillar in the parking lot, or the like so as to prevent a car from being damaged by a collision with the wall surface of the curved ramp and the edge of the pillar due to inexperienced driving or carelessness, and assist a driver to prevent an accident and properly park his/her car by allowing the driver to accurately recognize the traveling direction of the car and the distance to the wall.
Abstract:
A flashing beacon may include a signal unit, a control unit associated with the signal unit, a solar panel or collector, and an activation device that may all be mounted or otherwise positioned on a post of a roadway sign. Light units associated with the signal unit may be programmed to flash on and off in a unique wig-wag pattern. Further, a light bar may also be used with the beacon to generate an intense flash of light soon after activation of the beacon as an additional means of grabbing the attention of the operator of a vehicle.

Abstract:
The present invention discloses an electronic traffic device, including a tower or pole having mounted thereon a plurality of devices, including at least one audio speaker connected to an electronic source of information in order to provide public announcements to persons in the area of the speaker. The electronic traffic device also includes at least one security camera electronically connected to a local police station in order to provide to police a camera surveillance of events occurring in the area of the security camera; electronic signs to provide weather information, traffic information, and parking information; a public phone that can be used by the public to call for assistance in an emergency; an alarm button connected to the local police and fire department, so that a person in the area can press the alarm and send a signal to the local police or fire department; a street lamp for providing light to the area which is connected to a power source on the traffic device, which may include either a battery pack or solar panel for providing power to the electronic devices on the tower; and a charging device for cell phones and other devices for the public in the area to use.
Abstract:
A traffic indicator warning unit for preventing collisions in blind corners has a weather-resistant chassis, a rechargeable battery within the chassis configured to power the unit, an indicator assembly mounted to the chassis comprising a first indicator light configured to indicate to a driver to stop and wait, and a second indicator light configured to indicate to a driver that the unit is non-operational, and further a motion-detector mounted to the chassis, configured to detect a moving vehicle near the unit, a metal detector mounted to the chassis, configured to detect the metal in a vehicle near the unit, and a transmitter/receiver within the chassis having an antenna, wherein the transmitter/receiver is configured to communicate with one or more other traffic warning units. A method of use of a traffic indicator warning system for a blind corner system is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present disclosure describes light delivery and distribution components of a light duct that can be used as a luminaire, such as a bollard-style luminaire that can be useful for the illumination of pedestrian crosswalks. The bollard luminaire includes a design that generally confines light to illuminate the cross-walk and the pedestrian in the crosswalk, such that light that could produce glare for the pedestrian and/or a driver approaching the crosswalk is minimized The delivery and distribution system (i.e., light duct and light duct extractor) can function effectively with any light source that is capable of delivering light which is substantially collimated about the longitudinal axis of the light duct, and which is also preferably substantially uniform over the inlet of the light duct.

Abstract:
An illuminated road sign has reflective lettering on each side, a plurality of illumination devices, and a battery-powered controller. The illumination devices are arranged along the perimeter of each face of the sign, are powered by the battery or with solar cell in an alternate embodiment, and are controlled by switches located on the handle of the sign assembly. The sign may be supported by a tripod structure portion that enables the sign to be utilized in a stand-alone state.
Abstract:
A combination scene lighting and traffic control system includes a scene illumination apparatus for illuminating an emergency scene, and a detachable adapter for converting the illumination apparatus into a traffic light. The scene illumination apparatus includes at least two separately actuatable lighting elements within a tripod-mounted housing. A control device allows simultaneous actuation of both lighting elements when maximum illumination is desired or actuation of a single element if less illumination is desired. The adapter holds two different colored filters, each of which overlies a different one of the lighting elements when the adapter is secured to the illumination apparatus, so that one colored light will be visible to approaching motorists when a first of the lighting elements is actuated and a different colored light will be visible when a second of the lighting elements is actuated. The filter colors are preferably associated with traditional traffic control colors such as red and green, so that approaching motorists will stop or go depending on which color light is visible.
Abstract:
A pylon is provided for providing visual signals to race participants. The pylon includes a base. A shell is carried on the base. The shell is formed having an outer wall surrounding an internal chamber. The internal chamber includes a wedge-shaped portion which carries a wedge-shaped luminaire. An upwardly-extending tube is carried by the base. The tube is nested within the internal chamber and carries the shell. A power source is provided which provides electricity to the luminaire. A wireless transmitter is provided which is used by a user to turn the luminaire on and off, which luminaire provides visual signals to the race participants.
