    Abstract: A display apparatus includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a driver chip. The first substrate includes a plurality of gate lines disposed in the display area and extended in a first direction, a plurality of data lines disposed on a gate insulating layer insulating the gate lines and extended in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction, and a gate driving circuit section disposed in the first peripheral area adjacent to first ends of the gate lines. The second substrate is opposite to the first substrate. A liquid crystal is interposed between the first and second substrates. The driver chip is disposed in the second peripheral area adjacent to second ends of the gate lines opposite to the first ends so that the width of the upper and lower portions of the display area may be decreased.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus including a gate driving circuit disposed on a liquid crystal display is provided. The apparatus further includes a data driving chip, disposed on the liquid crystal display panel, to apply data driving signals to data lines. The gate driving circuit includes a plurality of stages connected to one another in parallel. The odd-numbered stages of the stages each apply gate driving signals to odd-numbered gate lines of the gate lines, in response to a first clock signal and the even-numbered stages of the stages each apply the gate driving signals to even-numbered gate lines of the gate lines, in response to a second clock signal having an opposite phase from a phase of the first clock signal.

    Abstract: A method of driving a display device includes: applying a first voltage at the first transistor to turn on the first transistor; maintaining the first voltage at the first transistor; applying a second voltage lower than the first voltage at the first transistor; wherein the applying of the first voltage comprises switching the fourth transistor according to the second scan signal to couple the gate electrode of the first transistor to the third power source, and switching the fifth transistor according to the light emission control signal to couple the first electrode of the first transistor to the first power source, and the applying of the second voltage comprises switching the second transistor according to the first scan signal to couple the first electrode of the first transistor to the data line, and switching the third transistor according to the first scan signal to diode-couple the first transistor.

    Abstract: A display device includes: a pixel unit having a plurality of pixels; a timing controller supplying respective scan start signals to a plurality of scan drivers and an emission start signal to an emission driver, in response to synchronization signals supplied from the outside; the emission driver supplying an emission signal to emission control lines connected to the pixels based on the emission start signal; the scan drivers supplying scan signals to the scan lines connected to the pixels based on the scan start signal; and a data driver supplying a data signal to data lines connected to the pixels, and at least one of a frequency of the emission start signal and frequencies of the scan start signals may be a first frequency that is determined independently of a driving frequency when the driving frequency is less than or equal to a threshold value.
