Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. An access point (AP) may use wireless local area network (WLAN) signaling fields in a multiple user transmission preamble to communicate with a number of stations greater than a threshold. For example, the AP may determine that the number of stations is greater than the threshold and generate a compression indicator and an indication of the number of stations to include in a first signaling field. The AP may then generate a spatial configuration indicator in a second signaling field based on the number of stations and transmit the first and second signaling fields in a preamble of the multiple user transmission. Upon receiving the preamble, a station may identify the compression indicator and number of stations, and the spatial configuration indicator in the first and second signaling fields, and decode the multiple user transmission using a determined spatial decoding scheme.

Abstract: Various aspects provide for receiving identity information from a station (STA) that identifies the STA as a sensor-type STA, determining whether communication attributes of the STA correlates with communication attributes expected for a sensor-type STA, and determining that the identity information received from the STA is false when the one or more communication attributes of the STA is uncorrelated with the one or more communication attributes expected for a sensor-type STA. Additional aspects provide for initiating one or more remedial actions upon determining that the identity information is false. The communication attributes may pertain to packet size, inter-arrival time, and/or inter-arrival time variance. The remedial actions may include blocking a future communication with the STA, communicating a warning message to the STA, and/or assigning the STA to a particular access window. Communications by the STA may comply with aspects of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11ah.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for resource allocation signaling in a high efficiency wireless local area network (WLAN) are disclosed. A receiver may receive, at a first station, a transmission frame that includes a WLAN signaling field decodable by a plurality of stations. The receiver may identify, in a station-specific portion of the WLAN signaling field, an order for a plurality of station-specific information blocks associated with the plurality of stations. The receiver may determine a number of spatial streams allocated to the first station based at least in part on the identified order for the plurality of station-specific information blocks.

The transmitter may transmit the transmission frame including the WLAN signaling field.

Abstract: Various aspects provide for determining an amount of time for a data packet at a medium access control (MAC) layer of the first apparatus to reach an application layer of a second apparatus, setting a MAC layer lifetime limit of the data packet based on the determined amount of time for the data packet at the MAC layer of the first apparatus to reach the application layer of the second apparatus, and discarding the data packet when the MAC layer lifetime limit of the data packet is reached. The MAC layer lifetime limit of the data packet comprises a duration of time during which the data packet is suitable for transmission. The MAC layer lifetime limit of the data packet may be different from a MAC layer lifetime limit of another data packet associated with an access category that is the same as the access category with which the data packet is associated. Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for signaling between an access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) and a non-AP MLD that support multi-link communication in a wireless local area network (WLAN). In some implementations, a multi-link association may include a first link (referred to as an anchor link) and one or more other links (referred to as auxiliary links). The signaling may include control information to activate or deactivate auxiliary links dynamically based on communication load, throughput requirements, or quality of service (QOS). The signaling also may include requests, acknowledgments, or negotiation regarding multi-link connections. Furthermore, signaling and timing information may be used to coordinate when auxiliary links are used for communication or when to promote an auxiliary link to an anchor link.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An access point (AP) may transmit, to a second AP and during a first portion of a transmission opportunity (TxOP), a request to participate in a multi-user (MU) transmission. The AP may receive, from the second AP and during the first portion of the TxOP, an indication of intent to participate in the MU transmission during the second portion of the TxOP, the indication of intent including a resource request of the second AP for participation in the MU transmission. The AP may transmit, during an initial period of the second portion of the TxOP, a trigger signal to the second AP indicating a set of one or more resources for the second AP during the MU transmission. The AP may participate, in conjunction with the second AP and during the second portion of the TxOP, in the MU transmission.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for multi-link aggregation in wireless communications. In one aspect, an apparatus includes a multi-link operation device configured to generate and output for transmission a message indicating a mapping of each of a plurality of traffic identifiers (TIDs) to one or more parameters associated with each of a plurality of wireless links. In some aspects, another apparatus may obtain a message via at least one of a plurality of wireless links indicating a mapping of each of a plurality of TIDs to one or more parameters associated with each the plurality of wireless links, obtain a sequence of packets associated with at least one of the plurality of TIDs via one or more of the plurality of wireless links, and process the sequence of packets based on the mapping indicated via the message.
