Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for an on-demand measurement gap for inter-frequency radio resource management (RRM) measurements. A method for wireless communications by a base station (BS) includes configuring a user equipment (UE) in the serving cell for measurement of target cell (s) and with an on-demand measurement gap configuration for measuring the target cell (s). Neighbor cells in a same frequency can coordinate to align synchronization signal block (SSB) or channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) transmission and provide timing information of the aligned SSB or CSI-RS transmission to a cell in a different frequency. A method by a UE includes receiving an on-demand measurement gap configuration from a serving cell co and measuring target cell (s) based on the measurement gap configuration.

A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station during a connection establishment procedure, a UE message indicating support for a plurality of connected modes, where the plurality of connected modes includes a first connected mode. The UE may receive, based at least in part on the UE message, a configuration message from the base station configuring resources for the UE to use while operating in the first connected mode. The UE may perform a grantless communication with the base station while operating in the first connected mode and using the configured resources.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The techniques described herein relate to enhancements to physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring and skipping. A user equipment (UE) receives, from a network entity, a control message including a control channel skipping indication or a switching indication. The control channel skipping indication or the switching indication is associated with an application delay time duration that indicates a beginning of a control channel skipping or search space set group (SSSG) switching time duration. The UE adjusts an ending time of the application delay time duration based on feedback of whether a message was successfully received via a data channel. The UE skips monitoring of control channel occasions or transitioning from a first SSSG, beginning at the adjusted ending time of the application delay time duration.

The described techniques provide for a network entity to indicate one or more wake-up radio (WUR) configurations to a user equipment (UE), which may communicate a desired WUR configuration with the network entity. The UE may indicate a request for the desired WUR configuration, may multiplex the request with another signal associated with the UE, or both. Additionally, or alternatively, the network entity may indicate a single WUR configuration to the UE, which may be determined according to desired configurations, a class of WUR, or both associated with a group of UEs including the UE. Such techniques may support a reduced overall power expenditure of the UE by improving WUR operation.
