Abstract: In embodiments of systems and methods for managing end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS) in a communication path spanning a first communication network and a second communication network may include determining by a network element of the first communication network an end-to-end QoS requirement for communicating packets from a packet source to a packet destination via the communication path, determining by the network element a QoS provided by the second communication network within the communication path, and configuring the first communication network to provide sufficient QoS to support the end-to-end QoS requirement based on the QoS provided by the second communication network.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may manage an end-to-end delay budget for wireless communications. The communication device may receive semi-static control signaling indicating a packet delay requirement. The communication device may receive dynamic control signaling from a different device indicating a packet delay measurement for one or more of a packet or a group of packets associated with the wireless communication in one or more of a downlink or an uplink. The communication device may adjust a packet delay parameter to compensate a delay for one or more of the downlink or the uplink based on the packet delay requirement and the packet delay measurement, and may communicate in the downlink, the uplink, or both based on the adjusted packet delay parameter.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for traffic burst awareness in wireless systems. An application function, such as via an application server, can determine one or more burst parameters associated with a traffic flow for at least one service. The application function can send the one or more burst parameters a network. The burst parameters may include a burst factor associated with a minimum bit rate for providing service coverage for the traffic flow and/or a burst spread. A core network and/or access network (AN) entity can obtain the burst parameters and utilize the burst factor for communicating with a user equipment (UE). The CN and/or AN may use the burst parameters for admission control, resource allocation, and/or setting sleep mode parameters.

Abstract: Some techniques described herein provide autonomous modification of a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) of a grant for a transmission by a user equipment UE. For example, the UE may receive a grant (e.g., a configured grant) indicating a resource allocation and a first MCS for a transmission on the resource allocation. The UE may use the resource allocation for a transmission of a number of transport blocks (e.g., one or more transport blocks), and may use a second MCS, different than the first MCS, for the transmission. In some examples, the second MCS may be a lower MCS, associated with a lower modulation scheme and/or code rate, than the first MCS. Thus, a per-resource-block power consumption of the transmission is decreased by using the second MCS, which provides power savings while reducing or eliminating padding of the uplink communication.

The transmitting device may apply a forward error correction encoding to the outer coding block. The transmitting device may transmit the plurality of outer coding symbols in accordance with applying the forward error correction encoding to the outer coding block.
