    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for adjusting the density and/or number of random access channel (RACH) occasion for one or subset of synchronization signal block (SSB) beams from the plurality of available SSB beams. To this end, features of the present disclosure utilize a beam-specific bit-field that is transmitted by the base station to the user equipment (UE) that may indicate RACH occasion density for a SSB beam or a subset of SSB beams. In some aspects, the time and frequency resources for RACH occasion with beam-specific alternative density may be identified via the resources for general RACH occasions. Based on the adjusted RACH occasion density, the UE may select one or time and frequency resources to initiate access with the base station.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may perform a contention-free random access (CFRA) procedure to establish a connection. The base station may transmit control signaling indicating a configuration for a first message of the CFRA including a preamble. The UE may transmit the first message in accordance with the configuration. The preamble of the first message may indicate a request for the base station to use repetition to transmit downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a second message of the CFRA procedure. In some examples, the UE may transmit the first message based on determining that one or more measurement values satisfy one or more thresholds. In response to the request, the base station may transmit one or more repetitions of the DCI and may transmit the second message of the CFRA procedure in accordance with the DCI.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling from a network entity, such as radio resource control (RRC) signaling, indicating for the UE to select a mixed-waveform modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table. The UE may select the MCS table in accordance with the signaling. The network entity may send additional control signaling to the UE indicating for the UE to use one or more of the waveforms in the mixed-waveform MCS table for scheduled data. For example, the UE may transmit the scheduled data, receive the scheduled data, or both in accordance with the one or more waveforms indicated in the additional control signaling.
