Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. In one method, a method of wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a synchronization signal. The synchronization signal may be common to a plurality of cells within a network. The method further includes acquiring a timing of the network based on the synchronization signal, and transmitting a pilot signal in response to acquiring the timing of the network. The pilot signal may identify the UE and be concurrently receivable by the plurality of cells within the network. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Optimizing multiflow performance and priority across UEs and networks including receive antenna selection at the UEs, CSI measurement and reporting, and scheduling for multiflow operation. The techniques may evaluate channel conditions for a UE for multiple access points and different combinations of antennas and determine how the UE should feedback CSI for transmissions from the multiple access points. The disclosed techniques also include techniques for scheduling transmissions from the multiple access points using the CSI information to optimize multiflow performance and priority across UEs and networks. Various scheduling modes use feedback from UEs including the maximum supported rates for each link and/or rates based on the maximum sum capacity of the links used concurrently. The scheduler may maintain separate priority lists for each access point or a single priority list across both access points. The techniques may be used for multiflow operation using LTE and WLAN links.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for sharing or isolating network resources between multiple cells in a system. Resources are allocated to multiple cells and multiplexed according to a time division multiplexing (TDM) scheme where a portion of a component carrier is shared between multiple cells. The allocation of resources also includes splitting or sharing a portion of the time resources between two or more cells such that a subframe is allocated as a subframe shared between multiple cells or as a subframe dedicated for use by only a single cell.

Abstract: A technique is disclosed to minimize service interruption at a wireless user equipment device during a handover by maintaining dual active connections during the handover. Upon initiating the handover, an initial/first connection with a first access node is maintained while establishing a second connection with a second access node. The user equipment device can receive data over the first connection and second connection during the handover. The first connection may be terminated (by the user equipment device or by timing out due to inactivity) after the handover is completed. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for wireless communication, and more particularly, to methods and apparatus to enable a node to be aware of active services and context for a mobile device in order to determine the load balancing and admission control for the services. For example, in certain aspects, a mobile device for managing at least one data flow between a core network and the mobile device may determine whether at least one of the data flow or a service related to the data flow should be reported and send a report to a first node based on the determination. The report may identify at least one of the data flow or service and indicates a packet data network (PDN) connection or bearer associated with the service or data flow.

Abstract: A technique is disclosed to facilitate dual active connections by a UE device using a transmitter. A first connection is established with a first access node for wireless communication services. A first coexistence indicator provided/sent by the UE device to the first access node indicating that the UE device supports multiple concurrent connections. In response to providing the first coexistence indicator, the UE device receives a first transmit pattern and a first receive pattern. The transmitter may be configure to transmit according to the first transmit pattern for the first connection while sharing transmission resources with at least one other connection. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also described and claimed herein.

Abstract: One or more selectively activated features needed at a device to use a network service may be identified. Authorization information and feature activation key(s) associated with features that the device has been authorized to activate may be obtained at the device. The feature activation key(s) may be used to activate and/or maintain activation of the authorized features that match the selectively activated feature(s) needed to use the network service. An authorization server may obtain a request to activate one or more selectively activated features of a device. The authorization server may verify that the selectively activated feature(s) are authorized to be used at the device based on an authorization agreement obtained at the authorization server. The authorization server may send proof that the device is authorized to use the selectively activated feature(s) and may send feature activation key(s) based on the authorization agreement in response to the request.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide mechanisms for count synchronization in a wireless communication network. A respective count value may be maintained for each packet transmitted over a wireless connection, where each count value includes a respective hyper frame number and a respective sequence number. To synchronize a current count value associated with a current packet, a count synchronization may be initiated to transmit at least a current hyper frame number of the current count value over the wireless connection.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are disclosed to protect a user equipment's international mobile subscriber identity by providing a privacy mobile subscriber identity instead. In an attach attempt to a serving network, the UE provides the PMSI instead of IMSI, protecting the IMSI from exposure. The PMSI is determined between a home network server and the UE so that intermediate node elements in the serving network do not have knowledge of the relationship between the PMSI and the IMSI. Upon receipt of the PMSI in the attach request, the server generates a next PMSI to be used in a subsequent attach request and sends the next PMSI to the UE for confirmation. The UE confirms the next PMSI to synchronize between the UE and server and sends an acknowledgment token to the server. The UE and the server then each update local copies of the current and next PMSI values.
