    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to mechanism for interactions for entering into the sleep mode. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the network device transmits the information of go-to-sleep, GTS, to the terminal device on a lower layer (for example, the physical layer). The lower protocol layer informs the higher protocol layer (for example, the MAC layer) of the information of GTS. The terminal device determines how to monitor the physical downlink channel based on the information of GTS. Further, the terminal device may switch bandwidth part based on the information of GTS. In this way, the GTS is able to significantly save power.

    Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from improved random access operations. For example, certain embodiments may benefit from improved random access in which multiple bandwidth parts are configured to a user equipment within one cell. A method, in certain embodiments, may include triggering a random access procedure at a user equipment. The method may also include switching at the user equipment from a first uplink bandwidth part that does not support a random access channel to a second uplink bandwidth part that has the random access channel configured after the triggering of the random access procedure. The switching may be autonomously performed by the user equipment. In addition, the method may include performing the random access procedure at the user equipment using the random access channel configured at the second uplink bandwidth part.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods, devices and computer readable storage media for determining a transport block size (TBS) for Contention Free Random Access (CFRA) in a random access procedure. In example embodiments, a CFRA request is transmitted by a terminal device to a network device during a random access procedure. The terminal device receives a random access response to the CFRA request from the network device. The random access response indicates a TBS granted by the network device for use in transmission. Based on the granted TBS, the terminal device transmits, to the network device, a first data block with the granted TBS or a second data block to be transmitted and stored in a buffer. In this way, the data loss may be avoided, and the data transmission efficiency may be improved.

    Abstract: A method, an apparatus and a computer readable medium ae disclosed for early data transmission determinations using an uplink grant. The method includes obtaining Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling to be transmitted to a network device and data to be transmitted with the RRC signaling. The method also includes, in response to receiving a Random Access Response with uplink grant from the network device, determining, based on the uplink grant, whether the data is allowed to be transmitted with the RRC signaling. In addition, the method also includes, in response to determining whether the data is allowed to be transmitted with the RRC signaling, generating a media access control (MAC) packet data unit (PDU) and transmitting the MAC PDU the network device.
