摘要： A system including a multi-port storage device (e.g., a disk drive) and at least two users, each user coupled to a port of the storage device by a serial link. The storage device has an operational portion and an interface (including arbitration circuitry) between its ports and the operational portion. In response to a set of competing priority bids from the users, the arbitration circuitry grants one bid (including by sending an acknowledgement to the successful bidder) and preferably holds each non-granted competing bid without sending any notification to the unsuccessful bidder until the successful bidder sends a deselect signal. The system can be a RAID system including at least two disk drives and at least two controllers, where at least one drive is a multi-port device shared by at least two of the controllers. Preferably, each priority bid and deselect signal is a primitive code (e.g., an ordered sequence of a 10-bit control character and three 10-bit data characters in SATA format). Other aspects of the invention are multi-port storage devices and users for use in such a system.

摘要： A vertical color filter sensor group formed on a substrate (preferably a semiconductor substrate) and including at least two vertically stacked, photosensitive sensors, and an array of such sensor groups. In some embodiments, a carrier-collection element of at least one sensor of the group has substantially larger area, projected in a plane perpendicular to a normal axis defined by a top surface of a top sensor of the group, than does each minimum-sized carrier-collection element of the group. In some embodiments, the array includes at least two sensor groups that share at least one carrier-collection element. Optionally, the sensor group includes at least one filter positioned relative to the sensors such that radiation that has propagated through or reflected from the filter will propagate into at least one sensor of the group.

At least one N type region is also disposed in the body adjacent the first P type region so as to form a PN junction having a width Wn near a surface of the semiconductor body. A further N type region is provided which is electrically connected to a cathode terminal of the device and forming a third PN junction with the further N type region.

Each transmitter, receiver, and cipher engine is configured to implement a content protection protocol in a manner that implements at least one and preferably more than one of a class of attack prevention features disclosed herein. In preferred embodiments the invention is employed to encrypt data in accordance with the High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (“HDCP”) protocol, or a modified version of the HDCP protocol.

In preferred embodiments, a pitting knife and a coring knife horizontally translate each olive to be pitted while the pitting knife, coring knife, and olive revolve together about a horizontal axis, the pitting knife pushes out the pit horizontally as the olive and cup translate along a segment of a circular first path around the axis, the apparatus includes slicing pockets (in positions horizontally separated from the first path) which translate along a circular second path parallel to the first path, after pitting, a pitting knife pulls the pitted olive horizontally away from the first path and into one of the pockets, and the pitted olive in the pocket is sliced by slicing knives as the pitted olive and pocket translate around the axis along a segment of the second path into engagement with the slicing knives. Preferably, the slicing knives are pivotably mounted to a fixedly mounted knife holder, the knife holder allows convenient adjustment of the slicing knives' orientation such as by advancing and/or retracting an easily-accessible adjustment screw, and the slicing knives are spring-biased by the knife holder in a first orientation relative to each object to be sliced so that the slicing knives can temporarily pivot away from debris that translates into engagement therewith and spring back into the first orientation.
