Abstract: Disclosed is an antenna structure configured to be provided in a headset to be worn. The antenna structure has a radiator and ground plate. The radiator is arranged in a first plane, and the ground plate in a second plane. The first plane, in which the radiator is arranged, is configured to be arranged substantially parallel to the surface of the head of the user, when the user wears the headset in its intended position on the head. The radiator and the ground plate are connected by a first ground connector, a second ground connector and a feed connector. The radiator has an opening between the first ground connector and the second ground connector. The opening between the first ground connector and the second ground connector provides that an object is configured to be arranged between the first plane and the second plane.

Abstract: Disclosed is an earphone for a hearing device, wherein the earphone is configured to be worn at the ear of a user, the earphone comprising: a speaker housing comprising an output transducer for reproduction of audio signals, wherein the speaker housing has a first side configured to face towards the ear of the user when the earphone is worn by the user, and a second side opposite the first side; an earphone housing configured to retain the speaker housing such that the second side of the speaker housing faces a first side of the earphone housing, wherein the earphone housing has as a second side opposite the first side; a battery compartment for accommodating a replaceable battery, such that the replaceable battery is located at least partly between the second side of the speaker housing and at least a portion of the earphone housing; wherein the earphone comprises a retaining mechanism configured to retain the speaker housing and the earphone housing in a mechanical relationship with each other; wherein the earphone comprises a locking mechanism for locking and unlocking of the retaining mechanism, wherein the locking mechanism is configured to maintain the retaining mechanism in an operation configuration when locked and to allow the user to manipulate the retaining mechanism into a service configuration by repositioning the speaker housing relative to the earphone housing when unlocked; wherein the earphone is configured such that the battery compartment is inaccessible for replacement of the battery, when the retaining mechanism is in the operation configuration, and such that the battery compartment is accessible for replacement of the battery, when the retaining mechanism is in the service configuration; wherein the retaining mechanism further is configured to allow the speaker housing and the earphone housing to move relative to each other, when the retaining mechanism is in the operation configuration.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a microphone apparatus (10) with a main beamformer (F, BF) that provides a directional audio output (SF) by combining microphone signals (X, Y) from multiple microphones (11, 12).The quality of beamformed microphone signals normally depends on the individual microphones having equal sensitivity characteristics across the used frequency range. The invention enables automatic adaptation of the main beamformer (F, BF) to variations in microphone sensitivity and to changes in the alignment of the microphone apparatus (10) with respect to the user's mouth (7).This is achieved by having the microphone apparatus (10): estimate a suppression filter (Z) for an optimum voice-suppression beamformer (Z, BZ) based on the microphone signals (X, Y); estimate a candidate filter (W) for a candidate beamformer (W, BW) as the complex conjugate of the suppression filter (Z); estimate the performance of the candidate beamformer (W, BW); and replace a main filter (F) in the main beamformer (F, BF) with the candidate filter (W) if the candidate beamformer (W, BW) is estimated to perform better than the current main beamformer (F, BF).The invention may be used to enhance speech quality and intelligibility in headsets 1 and other audio devices that pick up user voice.

Abstract: A headset for voice communication is disclosed, the headset comprising at least one earphone having a speaker and one or more microphones. The headset is configured to be operated in a first mode in which an electronic noise cancelling circuit is configured to receive ambient audio via at least a first of the one or more microphones to implement an active noise cancelling function and to provide a noise cancelling audio signal to the speaker, and in a second mode in which ambient audio is provided as a hear-through audio signal to the speaker. The headset for voice communication is configured to detect whether a call is ongoing, and to provide a call signal in response to the detection. The headset comprises the electronic noise cancelling circuit, a voice activity detection unit configured to indicate when a user speaks, a switching element configured to switch the headset between operating in the first mode and operating in the second mode, wherein, when the headset is operated in the first mode and the call signal indicates that the user is not in a call, the switching element is configured to switch the headset from operating in the first mode to operating in the second mode when the voice activity detection unit indicates that the user speaks.

Abstract: A headset providing audio input and output for a mobile device includes a microphone and speaker. An RF transceiver performs wireless communication with the mobile device. One or more buttons are configured for push operations to control operation of the headset, the mobile device, or both. A processor is configured to process a signal input from the microphone and output the processed signal to the RF transceiver, process a signal received from the RF transceiver and output the processed signal to the speaker, and process a signal input according to the push operations of the one or more buttons. At least one of the buttons is configurable to actuate a selected function. A memory associated with the processor stores program instructions for executing a plurality of functions, wherein the selected plurality of function is selected in response to user input via a user interface on the mobile device.
