Abstract: A valve features an outer housing, in which there are provided inlet and outlet channels respectively reaching into the housing from inlet and outlet openings thereof. The two channels are axially closed at adjacent inner ends thereof, but feature perforated circumferential walls. A resiliently expandable sleeve is disposed around the circumferential walls in a position normally overlying the perforations, while leaving a gap between the sleeve and inner surfaces of the housing. A charging port communicates with the gap to enable pressurization thereof. Pressurization of the gap normally holds the sleeve tightly over the perforations to prevent flow from one channel to the other. When pressure in the inlet channel exceeds the pressure in the charging chamber, the sleeve radially expands from the circumferential walls of the channels to uncover the perforations and allow fluid to flow between the channels.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for an automatic fluid shut off device having a float disposed in a fluid catch basin attached to a first end of a rod movable in a direction of rising fluid in the catch basin; a second rod end extending to a fluid supply base and terminating adjacent to a restrained latch arm end, the latch arm end configured to be pivotably displaceable upon a force by the second rod end in response to a rising fluid in the catch basin; the latch arm pivotably connected to a shut-off valve; and the shut off valve retained in an open position while the latch arm is restrained, and under a rotational force to close the shut-off valve upon a release of the latch arm in response to the force by the second rod end. The latch arm can be restrained by a latch arm retention notch extending downward and inward.

Abstract: Some embodiments include a fluid control assembly with a flapper canister, a linkage rotatably coupled to the flapper canister and to a support of a mount. In some embodiments, the flapper canister can be angled with respect to the mount to enable the flapper canister to be coupled to various sizes, types and orientations of flush valves. In some embodiments, by rotating the linkage about pivots coupled to the flapper canister and the support and pivoting or rotating about a motion-enabling element coupling the mount and a support, the flapper canister can be raised, lowered, and/or rotated or pivoted enabling the flapper canister to be sealed against a flush valve orifice. In some embodiments, the flapper canister includes a buoyancy control tube providing fluid coupling between one side of the flapper canister to an opposite side and enabling buoyancy-assist to the position or motion of the flapper canister.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a positive pressure relief valve having a valve assembly, a trigger mechanism, an inlet manual override knob, and an outlet manual override knob. The valve assembly may comprises a valve throat and a main piston positioned at least partially within the valve throat, the main piston configured to selectively open and close the valve throat as a function of a pressure at the inlet to the valve assembly. The valve assembly may comprise a set of throat inserts within the valve throat. The trigger mechanism serves to quickly pressurize the main piston's diaphragm. The trigger mechanism may be positioned in a trigger mechanism housing at the outlet end of the valve assembly. The inlet and outlet manual override knob may be coupled to the main piston and configured to pull or push the main piston, thereby displacing the main piston to open the valve assembly.

Abstract: A water shut-off device is disclosed. The water shut-off device has an inlet port and an outlet port. The water shut-off device includes: a housing fluidly connected to the inlet port and the outlet port, the housing having an opening at its upper end and including: a valve for switching the device between an open configuration and a closed configuration, the valve permitting flow of water through the device in the open configuration and prohibiting flow of water through the device in the closed configuration; a gear wheel secured to the housing and operatively coupled to the valve, the valve being actuated by rotations of the gear wheel; and an anchor in mechanical communication with the gear wheel, the anchor including: a container for receiving water flowing through the opening; and at least one pallet connected to the container, the at least one pallet being configured to catch against one or more teeth of the gear wheel, the anchor being rotatably mounted at a fixed pivot in the housing such that the anchor swings about the pivot as water collects in the container, the swinging of the anchor about the pivot causing the at least one pallet to alternately catch and release a tooth of the gear wheel, thereby causing the gear wheel to rotate in a first direction.
