摘要: An actuator in a HVAC system includes a mechanical transducer, a processing circuit, a wireless transceiver, and a power circuit. The processing circuit includes a processor and memory and is configured to operate the mechanical transducer according to a control program stored in the memory. The wireless transceiver is configured to facilitate bidirectional wireless data communications between the processing circuit and an external device. The power circuit is configured to draw power from a wireless signal received via the wireless transceiver and power the processing circuit and the wireless transceiver using the drawn power. The processing circuit is configured to use the power drawn from the wireless signal to wirelessly transmit data stored in the memory of the actuator to the external device via the wireless transceiver, wirelessly receive data from the external device via the wireless transceiver, and store the data received from the external device in the memory.

摘要: An HVAC controller includes a housing, a user interface and a controller that is operably coupled to the user interface and is configured to display a HOME screen on the user interface that provides the user with current system operating information and enabling the user to access a hierarchical menu structure for viewing and/or editing one or more settings of the HVAC controller. The hierarchical menu structure includes a plurality of menu branches each having two or more hierarchical menu levels with a leaf menu at the bottom of each branch, where for a first group of the leaf menus, the user must navigate “back” to return to the HOME screen while for a second group of the leaf menus, the user is returned to the HOME screen after the user indicates the user is done with the leaf menu, without having to wait for the timeout period.

摘要: An HVAC controller is configured to automatically change between a HEAT mode and a COOL mode in accordance with a sensed temperature in the building structure, a HEAT temperature set point and a COOL temperature set point. The user is allowed to adjust the HEAT temperature set point and the COOL temperature set point, with the HVAC controller automatically adjusting one of the set points in response to the user making a change to the other of the other of the set points that violates a minimum deadband. If the user readjusts the user-adjusted set point in a way that no longer violates the minimum deadband, the HVAC controller will adjust the other set point back towards its previous setting.

摘要: An HVAC system includes an HVAC unit having a cooling mode and a heating mode for conditioning the air in an inside space, and a programmable thermostat located remotely from the HVAC unit. The HVAC unit may have an onboard controller configured to control when the HVAC unit is in the cooling mode or heating mode, and whether the HVAC unit is activated or not. In some cases, the onboard controller of the HVAC unit may use a common temperature setpoint when controlling in the cooling mode and the heating mode. The programmable thermostat may have a programmable schedule with a plurality of time periods, where each time period has a heating setpoint and a cooling setpoint separated by a dead band. The onboard controller of the HVAC unit may be configured to accept input signals from the remotely located thermostat. The remotely located thermostat may send one or more input signals to the onboard controller of the HVAC unit in accordance with the programmable schedule, where the one or more input signals cause the onboard controller of the HVAC unit to set the HVAC unit to a particular one of the cooling mode and the heating mode, and to activate the HVAC unit so as to condition the air in the inside space in the particular one of the cooling mode and the heating mode.

In an example, an HVAC controller may be configured to control at least part of an HVAC system in accordance with an algorithm that includes equipment information pertaining to operation of the specific HVAC equipment forming the HVAC system as well as comfort information such as desired temperatures. In some cases, the HVAC controller may be configured to enable display of certain of the equipment information in a read-only fashion, and in some cases, certain of the equipment information that would be of interest to an building inspector.
