摘要： A system and method for efficient transfer of image data to a service provider comprises a digital image source, an image pump, and a communication path to the service provider. The digital image source may be connected to the image pump using any appropriate communication configuration. Digital image data from the digital image source is transferred to the image pump, which may format the digital image data to conform to requirements of the particular service provider. The image pump may also attach customer account information and user service selections to the digital image data. The image pump may then send the digital image data and any attached information to the service provider. The service provider responsively may perform the requested services and return a finished product to the user.

摘要： A multimedia keepsake and the systems for its production are provided. At a kiosk, or using any form of computerized network communication (e.g. a PDA), a gift giver may design a multimedia keepsake in a processor. It may include any or all of a personal image, a text message, and an audio recording, including a voice message. Although these may originate with the gift giver and be uploaded to the processor. The processor then assembles the multimedia keepsake under the gift giver's control. The completed keepsake may be delivered to the gift recipient in physical or electronic form. In accordance with another aspect of the invention, a page of an album containing photographs may be provided with touch sensitive areas, so that a viewer may touch such areas and hear prerecorded sound recordings associated with the photograph. Touch sensors are preferably embedded in a cover of the album and aligned indicia are provided on an album page.

The user interface includes a touch screen for accepting command inputs and providing information to a user. Time-based media data is received by the printer from a media source specified via the user interface. A user specifies one or more multimedia processing functions for the printer to apply to the data. The printer performs the specified functions, and previews the output to the user via a display of the user interface. If the user decides to print the previewed output, the user specifies one or more output devices, such that the printer can print conventional printed output and/or to a specified electronic output.

The image data stored in the directory that has been judged not to be compliant with the DCF standard during the judging is selected.
