Abstract:
A multi-media player includes an enclosure, a video display, a digital media reader, a DVD player, a tuner, and a switch assembly. The video display is configured to receive data on at least one of a plurality of inputs and to display images represented by the received data. The digital media reader has a first output and is located substantially within the enclosure. The DVD player has a second output and is located substantially within the enclosure. The switch assembly has a plurality of connections between the plurality of inputs and the first output, the second output, and a third output of the tuner. The switch assembly also has a selector circuit that is configured to select at least one of the plurality of connections to transmit at least an image to the video display.
Abstract:
A digital contents playback and a method for playing the same are provided. The digital contents playback comprises an arrangement unit for re-arranging digital contents stored in a recording medium by selecting a “breath first arrangement mode”, a “depth first arrangements mode” and a “disk all arrangement mode”. The “disk all arrangement mode” consists of a “filename first arrangement mode” and a “physical address first arrangement mode”. The “physical address first arrangement mode” arranges digital contents stored in the recording medium in physical address sequence. The arrangement unit arranges the digital contents to be suitable for a determined mode by user's selection, and the digital contents are played in the arranged sequence. When digital contents are arranged depending on the “physical address first arrangement mode” in a playback using a compact disk as a recording medium, driving distance of an optic pick-up module for playing digital contents on the compact disk is shortened, which results in reduction of power consumption and noise.
Abstract:
A method of playing multimedia content comprising reading, at a local machine, local multimedia content stored on a portable storage medium; and utilizing a control structure stored on the separate storage medium to alter the playback of the local multimedia content stored on the portable storage medium. A method of providing multimedia content comprising the steps of reading, at a local machine, local multimedia content stored on a portable storage medium; and downloading a control structure to control the display of the local multimedia content.
Abstract:
A system comprising a plurality of devices connected via a network; a plurality of entities located on at least one of the plurality of devices; and a content management system located on at least one of the plurality of devices for creating a collection using at least two of the plurality of entities. A method of modifying a collection comprising analyzing metadata associated with the collection; and removing at least one entity from the collection based upon a set of presentation rules.
Abstract:
An optical disk apparatus comprising a control dial unit having a jog dial and a shuttle dial which is concentrically mounted outside the jog dial is provided to solve the problem that when operating the jog dial, the shuttle dial in proximity of the jog dial is also rotated thereby preventing its optical pickup to access to a precise target position to be reproduced. The control dial of the invention is comprised of an outer control dial and an inner control dial which has a smaller diameter than the outer control dial and is arranged within a circumference of the outer control dial, wherein a peripheral corner of an upper surface of the inner control dial protrudes from an upper surface of the outer control dial, and its distance of protrusion is larger than 2 mm and smaller than 90 mm.
Abstract:
A push-button speed change device for CD ROM drive is included in a CD ROM drive having a system casing and a front panel, and the front panel has indicating light, CD loader, and a plurality of control buttons. By means of each control button, it individually controls the play, pause, fast forward, fast reverse, of the optical disk drive, or when the user simultaneously presses any two of the control buttons, it can control the optical disk drive to rotate the motor in different speeds.
Abstract:
A hand microphone and an adaptor module form an assembly which is a peripheral device for a personal computer. The hand microphone is used to control dictation functions to be carried out by the PC. Two separate analog control signal channels are output from the hand microphone and applied, respectively, as X- and Y-axis inputs for the game port on the PC. Control signals carried in the two signal channels are generated by actuating control switches mounted on the hand microphone.
Abstract:
The present invention includes a playback means for playing back data on a disk; an audio output means for outputting audio data as an audio signal to the outside when the audio data is played back by the playback means; an audio level manipulation means for manipulating the output level of the audio signal outputted from the audio output means; a detection means for detecting a set value of the audio level manipulation means; and a rotation speed control means for controlling the rotation speed of the disk and a rotation speed control means for controlling the rotation speed of the disk which is played back by the playback means on the basis of the set value detected by the detection means only when no audio signal is outputted from the audio output means. In this disk playback device, less influence is exerted upon the operation of the drive even when an erroneous operation is performed and the user can arbitrarily change the disk rotation speed by a simple operation without adding a new operation means.
