Abstract:
A roll coupled to a separately manufactured axle rotates together with the axle in order to perform a rolling process. The roll includes an inner cylindrical surface, an outer cylindrical surface and both side faces, and at least one key way provided on at least one of the side faces is arranged adjacent to the inner cylindrical surface rather than said outer cylindrical surface, The key way is in a concave curved shape and is a portion of a spherical surface or of an ellipsoidal surface.
Abstract:
in a cylinder and/or a roller and in a method for producing and/or for the maintenance of a cylinder and/or roller, a metal layer (8, 9, 10) is applied, at least in parts, to the outer surface (2) of the cylinder (1, 1″) and/or the roller (1′). The metal layer (8, 9, 10) has a ductile metallic matrix (4) having embedded hard material particles (5). Such a cylinder and/or roller can be used in a device (11) for controlling the wear and tear of a cylinder (1, 1″) and/or roller (1′), the surfaces (2′) of which are subjected to wear and tear. The method for producing the cylinder and/or roller, the cylinder and/or roller, and the device for controlling wear and tear, allow the maintenance, costs and labour of the cylinder and/or roller to be reduced.
Abstract:
A ring holder for clamping a roll ring to a roll shaft between two annular abutments employs at least one removable abutment. The removable abutment is formed by a split ring which is supported on a shaft collar and held by a fixing ring which surrounds the split ring parts.
Abstract:
A pinion for mounting rolls thereupon for reducing rod or wire in a rolling mill wherein said pinion has a pair of hydraulic pressure chambers formed therein which cause a threaded plug in a cavity in said pinion to undergo lateral movement to expand the pinion to engage a roll mounted on said pinion, and thence to cause a clamp to laterally clamp a roll against an abutment formed on the pinion to clamp the roll on the pinion once the plug has undergone lateral movement.
Abstract:
Arrangement for changing the nut (11), the latter holding a roll ring, on a cantilever-mounted roll shaft (2) having a thread (13) for the nut (11), by means of a changeover apparatus. This has a threaded sleeve (50) which is provided with a thread (12a) that matches the thread (13) of the roll shaft (2) in order to take the nut (11). It has a centring device (49) for placement in alignment against the roll shaft (2). To ensure that the nut (11) can be screwed onto the roll shaft (2) from the threaded sleeve (50) even when the position of their threads does not match exactly, the threaded sleeve is moveable and inhibited against rotation in relation to the centring device (49) and/or in relation to the roll shaft (2).
Abstract:
A changing device for shaft and hub connections, comprising a shaft end, a hub part surrounding the shaft end, and a conical clamping bushing disposed therebetween. There is also provided -means for retaining the clamping bushing on the end of the shaft in a way so that it cannot be lost, and at the same time serves to initiate biaxial displacement of the clamping bushing in relation to the end of the shaft. This permits assembling and dismantling of the hub part, whereby all other parts of the shaft and hub connection can remain mounted on the end of the shaft. This leads to particularly short tool changing times.
Abstract:
Apparatus for mounting a mill roll on a mill drive shaft in which mounting concentricity is produced by the internal expansion of the drive shaft to engage the bore of the mill roll. A secondary clamping device provides additional lateral binding force on the mill roll necessary for the production of the required frictional forces for the transmission of driving torque from the shaft to the mill roll.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a roll, comprising cemented carbide and cast iron, and a method for manufacture of the same. The roll may be used for hot or cold rolling. The barrel comprises one or several cemented carbide rings, east by centrifugal casting method into a roll body of an iron alloy. The casting alloy comprises an essentially graphitic east iron, which after the casting contains residual austenitc. This residual austenitc is transformed at subsequent heat treatment step (or steps) totally or partly to mainly bainite under volume increase, with the aim of reducing or totally eliminating the differential shrinkage between the east iron and the cemented carbide as a result from cooling after the casting. The central part of the roll body may alternatively consist of another alloy.

Abstract:
Support for rolling rings on rolling stands having rolls supported as cantilevers, comprising a shaft (16) with a first flange (12) and a second flange (13), a rolling ring (11) having substantially parallel lateral walls being interposed therebetween, the second flange (13) operating towards the first flange (12) owing to the action of threaded clamping bolts (14), the first and second flanges (12-13) including undercuts (17), in which support:the shaft (16) extends beyond the rolling ring (11) so as to create a first toric protrusion (20),the second flange (13) comprises a toric hollow (21), which mates with the first toric protrusion (20) and is coupled thereto, and comprises also a second toric protrusion extending within the first toric protrusion (20) and mating therewith, and the undercuts (17) of the first (12) and second (13) flanges include rings (22) made of an antifriction material.
