Abstract:
A system for generation of an x-ray image with high resolution has an x-ray generator that produces an x-ray focal spot with a number of intensity maxima. The partial x-ray images corresponding to each of the intensity maxima are subsequently reconstructed into an x-ray image of high resolution using an algorithm taking into account the spatial distribution.
Abstract:
A method for promoting weight loss and/or lowering blood glucose comprises an active material which may be cinnamon, an extract of cinnamon, or a derivative of a cinnamon extract. The active material may be utilized in combination with further active ingredients.
Abstract:
An electrical impedance scanner having a probe in its contact surface [lacuna] an electrode matrix for detection of the surface distribution of the body current and/or body potentials originating from an opposing electrode which is fitted at some other point on the body of the patient, in which case additional ultrasound transducers (12) for the transmission and reception of ultrasound waves are installed in the contact surface (9) of the probe (3) and are connected to an ultrasound investigation appliance which has a monitor.
Abstract:
In a device and associated method for reconstruction and visualization of projection data, projection data are stored per slice and are subjected to an image reconstruction procedure in parallel within arbitrary slice planes in a processor-controlled filtering process that is executed n times, wherein volume data that are created can already be made available (loaded) for a direct visualization.
Abstract:
A tomosynthesis apparatus has an x-ray source to generate an x-ray beam directed toward an x-ray detector and a support plate and a compression plate between which a breast can be positioned. The compression plate has a compression surface that is concave toward the support plate, and is provided with at least one through-hole into which an ultrasound transducer is inserted for a sonographic data acquisition.
Abstract:
In a shockwave system with a shockwave source for treatment of a patient with shockwaves, a control and evaluation unit for evaluating an input signal supplied directly thereto that is correlated with a blood pressure value of the patient determined during the treatment, and controls the shockwave source dependent on the input signal.
Abstract:
In a method and a mammography device, a virtual mask is created from an x-ray image of the breast for positioning the breast for a biopsy. The mask reproduces the image region covered by the breast tissue. A region targeted for the biopsy, and located within the breast tissue, is marked in the mask. The breast is then positioned for the biopsy in the mammography device between a support plate and a compression plate, the compression plate being provided with a recess for introducing the biopsy instrument therethrough. The mask and the compression plate are superimposed to cause the marked region to be located within this recess. The breast is then moved until the position and the contour thereof substantially coincide with the position and contour of the mask.
Abstract:
In an x-ray system and a method for tomosynthetic scanning of a subject, x-ray radiation is emitted from two x-ray sources that are panned along a line relative to the subject during a tomosynthetic scan. The two x-ray sources are located next to each other along the line, and each emit an x-ray beam. X-rays from the two parallel beams attenuated by the subject are detected by a two-dimensional x-ray detector, that is substantially stationary during the tomosynthetic scan.
Abstract:
A tomosynthesis apparatus for mammography has an x-ray source for emission of x-ray beams from different directions directed toward a detector, and a compression plate and a support plate arranged in the beam path between the x-ray source and the detector. A breast to be examined is positioned and compressed between the compression plate and the support plate. The compression plate exhibits a concave recess open in the direction of the support plate on the side of the compression plate facing toward the support plate.
Abstract:
In a continuous mammography procedure, the breast of a subject is fixed in place in a retention device, and a first x-ray image is generated by irradiating the breast in the retention device. While the breast is still held in the retention device, the first x-ray image is evaluated to define a condition for generating a second x-ray image. The second x-ray image is then generated according to the defined condition, with the breast still in the same position in the retention device.
